For V(C6H6)2 5+12 =17e but in ques they asked if both readily oxidised in air to cation so 5+12-1 =16e similarly for Cr(c6H6)2 cation 6+12-1 = 17e (1 unpaired e) so ans is 3) o ,1 .

Jyoti Bhatt oxidation state of Cr in (n5 -C5H5 )2Cr is +2 so 3d4 ..i think magnetic moment of this specie is zero if you fill electron in Mo diagram of metallocene there is no unpaired electron . what is your ans ?
