I have this deck, and I LOVE it! I love all the references with the costumes and the sense of fun within the deck itself. I'm pretty sure The Hierophant is supposed to be a nod to Mr. Rogers (as in the late children's TV host Fred Rogers). The 3 of Wands is from American Werewolf in London.
I have this deck, which I bought more for nostalgia's sake and to enjoy walking through over wistful memories than to read with. I continue to enjoy your in-depth observations on each and every card. It always expands my view for usage.
I have mine in a Peggy bag that is orange,black,grey and white stripes i baught especially for this deck. I dont vibe with the Halloween Tarot but fell in love with this deck right away. I had to pre-order it .
You definitely nailed the nails 😂 I have this and absolutely love it. I get very cheeky but soft messages from it, perfect for this season! It definitely has an almost nurturing energy.
I'm so glad you did this one. I'm not into Halloween, but what I'm noticing is that the costumes are really a way to cherry pick all the beat examples of archetype characters. I think the Hierophant (the one with candy and the man in the sweater) is Mr. Rogers btw, which is honestly the most affirming version of Hierophant I can think of.
Super cute but I’m glad I didn’t get this one. I realized this year that I prefer a “paranormal” or “horror film” vibe versus a costume feel to my Halloween decks. As in I want to see a real witch or goblin versus someone dressed up as a witch or goblin. But I agree this is super charming for what it is and I really appreciate the fact that they could really add some of our favorite characters in there because they’re in “costumes”! Great walk-through as usual🎉
I was debating on this. But I prefer something witchy/pagan or paranormal deck. But I was looking at this or the Halloween deck. I bought the Mildred Payne Secret Oracle for this kind of vibe for Halloween.
Aww…the Sun card is super sentimental for me. My birthday is Halloween week, so growing up, all of my bday parties were costume parties. Love this deck!

This deck is one of the rare decks I've pre-ordered. When I saw the preview images I just knew I was going to love it and I LOVE this deck! 💖🎃 It is so much fun but has depth to it as well. Definitely is becoming my absolute favorite Halloween deck. I'm looking forward to using it a bunch this spooky season. And I do like this cardstock. In this case I think the gloss does make the deck more vibrant. It shuffles really nicely too. I do wish these sets included a smaller box for the deck for when I don't want to use the big box. I'm not really into bags for my decks personally. The book is so bright and gorgeous and the write ups are wonderful. The Hierophant as Mr. Rogers vibes!! 💖💖💖 I JUST saw that watching this video! 💖 The Hierophant as Mr. Rogers has just totally blown my mind! 🤯 In a good way... I've had such a hard time connecting with the Hierophant card because of the Christian associations. Mr. Rogers as the Hierophant adds such a relatable dimension to that card for me. I'm gonna have to think on that for a bit, but I'm LOVING it! 💖💖💖 Love your Peggy Bag for this deck! So adorable! 💖

This is a very cute and cozy Halloween deck. I’m also a fan of Llewelyn card stock. It’s easy to shuffle and all my decks have lasted well. Also loving the matching nail polish. 💜
Oh my ghoulish goodness...when I first saw mention of this deck, I was like, I have my Halloween deck, am not looking for more (at least not another with a straight-up Halloween theme--spooky decks are another story...👻), but Lisa! This is really cute, but very family orientated and that makes me feel sad bc my family situation is messed up. I think it's cool that there is a family/parent style deck for spooky times.. I will get my Halloween Tarot and Lewellyn Mystical Cats deck out to play with though.
I think the King of Cups is an old b movie character from The Black Lagoon, the creature who fell in love with one of the researchers, that might be why the love note.

I have never felt the need for a Halloween specific deck, but I really want this one. I think it’s versatile and not limited by season - which sounds weird, I guess, since it’s literally a Halloween themed deck.

Great review and perfect bag. I passed on this one I'm using the Jack O Lantern Tarot. I bought last year . At some point I may change my mind on this deck and get it. P.S. Halloween is definitely a season 🎃
This deck is adorable, lovable, and filled with nosalgia. The artist Jonathan Hunt did a fantastic job with this deck. I wonder if he has done more decks? I have this deck and it feels perfect for the season and maybe all year around. What a wonderful walkthrough you did and the Peggy Bag is perfect!

I had a feeling (and I was hoping) this would end up in your collection when you featured this deck in your Hot Takes video! I also didn't grab it on release day and got it only after seeing multiple walkthroughs. I like seeing all the cards first to make sure there isn't a card that's a huge turn off. The humor is very tongue-in-cheek similar to the Zombie Tarot, dark at times but not overly serious. Love the purple nails and the commitment to painting them to match the deck for the walkthrough, haha!!

Ok, I must admit. I was surprised. While you may have inspired.me to consider having a few light hearted tarot decks I won't be getting this one however. looks like a good amount of thought went into it though. Thanks for sharing
I love that the family is dressed as the Munsters. However the daughter didn’t want to look “ normal “ like the girl character in the Munsters so dressed up as Sabrina from the chilling adventures. 😊
I really love this deck but I'm horrified by the product's quality. I had to return it twice until I got a copy that was acceptable. The guidebook was stained and wrinkly and the cards were partly torn. The cardstock also is thinner than that of other Llewellyn decks. Llewellyn really needs to step up its game if it wants to keep selling decks!
That is bizarre - Llewellyn's quality has always been super consistent in my experience! :( The cardstock of my copy (which is 100% legit as it was sent by the author) is the same thickness as all other recent Llewellyn decks - and Llewellyn would have gotten the entire batch manufactured at the same time from the same printer. Did you buy it from Llewellyn directly or a third party seller? Was it fully shrink wrapped? It just sounds like you got a used copy or something - very odd.
@@Lisa_Papez I got it from Amazon and I'm pretty sure it is legit. There are also a few other reviews complaining about this. I had similar problems with the Forest Of Enchantment, although the card stock was better there. I also had the problem that the cardboard inlay's corners of both copies were torn. I guess I just had bad luck and I hope that next time I'll be luckier. Then again, I also had to return The Seasons Of The Witch Yule Oracle, the Murder Of Crows Tarot and the Celtic Spirit Oracle due to color flaws and torn cardstock. I have the feeling that the quality of mass market decks (at least those by Llewellyn/LoScarabeo and Rockpool) has been deteriorating giving me the impression these publishers just want to make a quick buck. I have never run into any problems with decks by other publishers or indie decks. But again: only my very subjective experience.
