My wife and i had the great pleasure of a tour around the Trickers factory in Northampton last week. An absolute privilege to see how the shoes and boots are made and also the love and dedication of the employees. And yes, we added to our Trickers collection.
Absolutely spot on. This is a cultural issue - globalisation and financialisation has meant fast fashion, fast food, fast finance, fast entertainment and I feel optimistic that the western world will return to one in which quality and craftsmanship are cherished again.
I have a pair of Grenson black brogue shoes that i bought in 1992. I have loake plain brown boots that are 40 yrs old. I have a pair of Barbour heavy brogues that were my go to shoes for years. I have a pair of Trickers brogue boots that i bought last year while back in the UK,they are the most comfortable boot. Your clothing and footwear tells a story about you I believe.
Well said gents; as I've got older I've understood that it's better to have fewer higher quality possessions than lots of cheaper items. I recently received my first pair of Trickers boots and I'm really happy with them.
I was apprenticed at Barmulloch college Glasgow, I was proud to learn my trade under George McCarthy, Eric Gordon, Jim Mc Faden and Mr Lee Port. they served the clothing industry in this country well. Now is the time that a new college is opened to support our clothing industry and make Britain proud again making British goods.
I enjoyed watching this. I have a pair of Brogues by Patrick Grant made in 2016. Just got my first pair of MIE DM's. Will try to shop for some Tricker's next time I am in the UK.
Many years ago I told my grandmother that she always had the same suit in all the photos, she replied that she had saved for a long time to be able to buy something that would last forever, that just by changing the shirt she would feel like new, I thought not It made sense, but today I see the photos, it was a tailor-made suit with a fabric that lasted many years and we all remember Grandma's suit and even when she left this world and we opened the wardrobe, we found it in perfect condition, along with his shirts are also handmade, with details that today are impossible to replicate with a machine, in short, today with my 45 years I understand perfectly what he meant, Greetings
Me watching this video, taking my beaten Tricker´s Stow boots out of the closet, and now treating them with leather care products, I figured that just got inspired a bit.
Well said about cheap products as you buy cheap you purchase 3 -4 times more than getting a good pair of Quality shoes. I am on my 3rd pair of trickers in over 30 years and they are well made shoes and once they have been worn a number of times they fit your foot like a glove.
It's also good for a person on a spiritual level to buy with attention and care and then treasure those items . To not be buying cheap products as a past time to alleviate boredom then chucking them in the bin two weeks later.
