I almost forgot to continue my petition to get Jonathan to look at this line: 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 c5 3. d5 b5 4. cxb5 a6 5. bxa6 e6 6.Nc3 exd5 7. Nxd5 Be7 8. e4 O-O 9. @colegieseking5136 2 года назад
@@matabichoslichessratingchess you’re actually wrong about that. Get the latest version of stockfish and let the depth increase. Trust me, it’s anything but a blunder. Computers won’t recognize the merits of the full rook sacrifice for a very long time, but eventually they see it and say the position is still equal.

Although most players have forgotten The terror that machines might rise above man One man fights on Alone Where most have become pet of the machine Taking its suggestions as truth He alone beckons "come forth forgotten foe" In his chamber he waivers An endless queue of machines awaits him But he fights on Alone

It IS up to you to defend humanity from bots. I'm not being cynical. At all. People today, especially young ones, may think that engines are like a new 'G-d's Word' or something, you are the only one proving them wrong so far. - these programs aren't called 'engines' or 'machines' for nothing - they are 'as smart as your alarm clock' (Kasparov on 'Deep Blue'). Hats off to Mr. Schrantz for being a real man.

Excellent win! It just shows that humans can beat computers when you use dangerous gambits. I wonder how well a super GM would do against Stockfish using the Nakhmanson!

is there any logic to the rook promotions? I guess it just assumes it's going to lose it either way. Really strange it happened twice
@jamismiscreant7514
@jamismiscreant7514 2 года назад
It’s because it calculates whether it promotes to room or queen the best move for white is to take and it takes less computational power if it promotes to a rook because it has less legal moves

I know there is an element of trickery in that you have prepped these lines. What I do not understand is, you are playing against an incredibly strong AI that could beat most of the super GMs without much difficulty in a normal game. Why can you not prepare in the same way against humans and obtain your GM title. The "trickery" of obtaining a significant advantage like you did here is not really any different from what GMs do when they prep openings... I am sure that stockfish could beat me with queen odds if I had to play a drawn out game.

Why does the bot play h6 and why is Bxh6 a good reply? It's a very unintuitive move. By the way, nice checkmate 🥰
@eliaschmidt9035
@eliaschmidt9035 2 года назад
I think it plays h6 to prevent Bg5 attacking the pinned bishop. However, if Bxh6, black can't take. If Rxh6, Qg8 is just checkmate, if gxh6 you allow Qg5+ because the g pawn can no longer block the check. After Kf8 Rf4+ Bf6 (all forced) Qg6 wins the bishop and the queen thereafter. So no chance for black. It is really weird that the engines are not thinking one step further. It is not that impossible to see that Bxh6 can be played.
@Chris-cs7nv
@Chris-cs7nv 2 года назад
stockfish latest version sees it right away... and also wouldn't play like those engines which are clearly weak and their purpose is to play against humans... Stockfish would also have preferred Kf6 but it wouldn't reach that position because it does not play Nc6. So, I assume other top engines do not fall for the trap and where's that simple position even stockfish can't understand? This last part should be an easy challenge, after all stockfish is still just a program. But I don't think you can defeat it full strength, unless it is given no opening book and it is blitz and you just prepare against some line that it follows sometimes. Still, you are beating it in some way or form and you are finding some very interesting lines that sometimes may actually work!(If stockfish is not given an opening move and does not know that it should think a little longer and you are lucky to get the position it blunder in....)
