Growing up in suburban New Hampshire, trick or treating was great. Every year, one lady would stand in the middle of her dark yard with a bowl of candy, dressed as a witch. If you approached her, she'd ask "TRICK... OR TREAT?". Most people said treat and got a little piece of candy. If you said trick, she would give you an evil look for what felt like a decade, then scream like a banshee to run everyone off her yard.
