Following the announcement of his 13th album ununiform, Tricky presents the video for single 'When We Die’, featuring Martina Topley-Bird. It offers an intimate look at the diverse range of people going about their individual, and individually complex, city lives - a filmic treatment of the 'Humans of New York' story-telling approach.
Eerie, haunting yet enveloped by a sense of peace and acceptance, ‘When We Die’ sees Tricky take hold of a new zest for life he has come to possess: “If you don’t accept death you don’t really accept life”, says Tricky.

Seeing Tricky and Martina work with others over the years since they split is like watching your parents dating others after a divorce. Sure, you treat their new love interests with respect and smile courteously...but you know in your heart(and they do too, I imagine) that it's just not the same. Their romantic entanglements may have proven too difficult to sustain, but their musical marriage will live forever as one of the greatest love stories of all-time.

She’s amazing on her own, and I love her. I’ve been a fan since I was a young teenager in the 90s, when TripHop was born. I hate to actually admit this, but he was lost without his muse. There are a few good songs on the album that she’s not apart of, but the album generally suffered for it. Just my opinion for what it’s worth. No matter, I still love both Tricky & Martina.

Musical genius!I discovered Tricky's music through Massive attack seeing theirs "unfinished sympathy"on Mtv in 1995...I follow his every release since then and cant get enough of this unique dark style.Tricky a true master in his profession.

@@roboo2310 it's not a joke. Yes it's Benadryl. A very dangerous and stupid "recreational" drug. Not fun , the high sucks and its so addictive for such a shitty high. Hallucinating on it is like dreaming when your awake except it's a nightmare of paranoia and uncomfortableness, yet I keep taking it.

This new album will be epic. I just hope he makes the tracks more expansive this time. Incredible hooks on his previous stuff of course (False Idols is such an underrated recording) but just as you're getting down in the depths with him they're over. But god, the sound on this one. Still the greatest trip hop artist in history.

Two of my fav artists since I was in junior high over 20 years ago. And I don't know how Tricky does it, but every album is better then his last, always for me. And hes prolific, what an artist.

Something that I learned over the last few years is that people from the streets no matter the circumstances deserve more respect, then I gave them. Why give them money, when they waste it on any kind of drug, so I thought. And even if that's true, a small gesture of appreciation can change someone's day and the rest is not my business. And you know what, that's enough for me.
