You could wear pale pink with the grey trousers, red, yellow, patterned fabrics that pick up the grey maybe, navy, black if you wear it. So many colours as well as white and grey white stripes. They would look lovely. Nice video 😊
New subscriber here. You have the gift of producing a great You Tube channel! That black and pink border fabric is gorgeous. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
Great selection 😊 I do love it when a pattern is so good you use it multiple times, makes it cost effective as well as being able to make with more confidence and adjust to your style
I'm so glad you've done a video on trousers as I never wear skirts or dresses. On the back of your first video on the Tremplin I bought the pattern plus some black cotton twill but I couldn't get the buttons in black. I'm planning to make at least 3 pairs of trousers for the summer as jeans are just too hot to wear - that's assuming we have a hot summer of course! I've got the Pietra pattern too.
@@sosewmad Have you got any idea where I could get some buttons. I've looked at so many websites and got nowhere. I started off looking at the Eglantine et Zoe buttons but the company won't ship to the UK and none of the suppliers have the black and gold ones like yours. I've looked at other sites for any back buttons in the 3 sizes but can't find the right size combination. It's very frustrating.
@@rosemaryhannah3467 I've just popped black and gold buttons into Google and some lovely ones popped up, looks like there is a selection pack on Amazon with different sizes, I haven't cross referenced if they are the right size, granted they aren't as wonderful as the mason Fauve ones, but they are exceptional. I hope you find something suitable ❤️
Cara, I always enjoy your videos. Find myself wishing I could sew as fast as you! This was a particularly welcome video as this is the summer of my attempts to find and fit some TNT trouser (or pants as we say here in the US) patterns. I especially appreciate your going into detail about the fit features you find helpful with each pattern. Much more helpful than the typical “I just love this pattern” that we often get. This post was truly helpful. I’ve written them all down and will take some time looking at the patterns online and maybe pick up a few to give a try. I truly want a good all purpose pattern or two that I can just run up a pair whenever I need/want. Thank you so very much.
Great ideas and it's always good to revisit old makes specially if they are great fits! I love the flat front shorts, reminds me of the ones I wore and loved in the 90's! So flattering!
Really like this epistole except when you say saguaro. I live an Tucson, Arizona, USA and have several of these majestic cacti growing in my yard. They are pronounced suh-war-row. A tongue twister at first but you'll get it.
Loved your selection of trousers! They all looked lovely. You mentioned a flat bum adjustment. Made me wonder which method of adjustment you use and how you determined what size of an adjustment you needed. I'll be starting a shorts-fitting journey soon. I desperately need shorts for the summer. Thanks! Just subscribed to your channel. I'm loving your videos!
Hi Diane it's lovely to hear from you. Closet core patterns have an amazing blog about all kinds of adjustments for trousers. They explain a flat seat adjustment brilliantly. But in all honesty I find I can literally take it in at the back seam and that works for me, however there are more official ways to complete this, the blog explains them all. Have a wonderful weekend
Hi Cara, thanks for a great roundup of trouser patterns! I've wanted to try the Pietra trousers and like the Bexhill shorts, too. I sew loads of shorts using oop Kwik Sew and Vogue patterns that fit well. Just bought Sinclair patterns Hello shorts-flat front, elasticated back with side panels for pockets. New release sale until 4 June. Happy sewing!
I made the the pietra trouser and shorts for my daughter, who to has no bottom, I used the size 10 for the front and size 8 for the back and they fit perfectly, not too much gather that they look baggy, just perfect give it a try ❤
I just love love the look of the Ines Trousers, I have never seen that pattern prior to your video. I look forward to the next video in your series, I am thoroughly enjoying it.
Cara, You have a nice variety of trousers. This was helpful. I'm going to save this video so I can refer to it when I need to make trousers. Thank you. Suzanne
Very excited to be going on a day course next week to sew a pair of trousers- my first woven trousers- I’d really like to be able to make trousers that fit and flatter and ditch the rtw jeans 😂 Thanks for the inspiration- we are making the SOI ultimate trousers on the course which you were wearing in a recent video. Hoping mine end up as nice as yours, although I have gone for a solid colour for my first pair 😊
I love named clothing as they design for my height so I always have luck with their fit. Need to try those Aina soon! your animal print pants are amazing too!!! Need to check out that pattern. I just made the classic pants and shorts by the sewing revival and got such a perfect fit with no mods. A very basic pant but I love that they only have elastic at the back with minimal gathering which works so well with my flat butt not to have all that excess fabric bunching and puffy at the back. (I made the 1st version before she sent out a second version with a little more ease to get it up over your butt) they worked perfect for me without the extra ease. 4 other favorite pants I love…Arden pants by Helens closet, high waist pants by Wardrobe by Me, Free range slacks by sew house 7 and Avalon pants by Tessuti (no side seam and amazing in ponte knit)
Orange would look great with light grey. I have a big problem with trousers. I have a flat seat but I have not got a waist. My hips are only slightly bigger. Help please.
A flat front with elastic back would work well I think, you could try the safiya trousers by Tilly and the buttons or the aina trousers by named patterns.
@@sosewmad have you not seen it? It is not a sound issue, the sound is completely turned off. I thought I would let you know so you can edit your video or make aaa new one on the same topic. I meant no harm. It really shouldn't be on the air. You need to Check it.
Thanks for sharing Cara, I always worry that drawstring elasticated trousers would look like pyjama’s but I guess it depends on the fabric choice. 🌈🍓🧶💙
