This is track 9 from the 1986 album entitled "Dr. Mattie Moss Clark Presents The Southern California Holy Gospel Music Workshop'. Lead by Mattie Moss Clark and Twinkie Clark Written by Twinkie Clark
Just the other day Jesus came my way He told me that He loved me Now I'm so glad I can say Even when you feel a little lonely You can't see your way He cares, I know He cares And He'll be right there Chorus I tried Him and I know Him Found Him to be a friend I know too much about Him On Him I can depend (repeat) Bridge Saved my soul Made me whole There's none like Him
I've tried and I know Him! Found Him to be a friend. I know too much about Him, on Him I can depend! Saved my soul, made me whole, there's none like Him!
Good God!!! We just dont get this sound anymore. My Choir members say Im stuck in a time loop. lol This is that sound that just leads you to the altar.
That's when I knew I was no longer youth or young adult. This is hard to find in church these days. Thanks for posting this. I can be working and take a praise session online.
All of this now new school beepedity bop gospel music doesn't even come anywhere close to this kinda gospel music. This kinda music gives you something to think about while you're at work and that spiteful boss is getting on your last nerve.
I never get tired of listening to this song😪😥 Such a beautiful song and a true ....Testimony Thank you to the late Dr.Mattie Moss Clark...( May she R.I.P.) for ....the time and hard work that she instilled in her daughters and encouraged them to bring out the precious, abundant annoited gifts that Our Heavenly Father had .....bestowed upon....them, as well... as herself!!🙏🏿🙏🏿 😔😔
I thank God that I can always depend on Gospel Nostalgia to soothe that inner crave that I have for the amazing sounds of my era, "the 70's, 80's and the 90's! I lived inside those songs for hours and hours daily as a child and as a young saved man. Priceless!!!!
I've NEVER heard this version! But after prayer today the LORD put this song in my spirit.... this is sho'nuff BLESSING ME!! We don't sing like this no more! LOVE THIS!! #THANKUJESUS4SAVINGME😁🙌🏾 #COGICALLMYLIFE 🙏🏾🙌🏾
My Lord. Yall just dont know what is happening to me right now. Im crying, i got chill bumps, i cant shake it this is my first time hearing this in my life and it was made YEARS ago but its touching me like nothing ever has! Lord have mercy Jesus. So many things running through my mind right now.
Diamondntharuff 30 To Think Twinkie wrote the lyrics and composed the 🎶 to this song. She is truly amazing! Playing that piano, singing with mom and leading the choir. My fingers would be sweating and hitting all kinds of keys😂
I can feel the anointing of the Lord. Good God, this raises my spirit to another level. It did then and does now. "On Him I can depend." Bless His holy name. This kept me in the church house. "There's none like Him!"
The power of personal testimony resonates in this anointed song. Dr. Moss and Twinkie together is a matchless duo! I SO miss this kind of singing ministry in today’s church.
I remember singing this song with the youth choir of my former church. I was 16 at the time and really didn't know like I know now what it means to "try Him and know Him to be a friend" Thanks for posting this.
Bring back the Days of Yea and Nay....#MarvinLWinans The ANOINTING is still over this song and Many More Songs like this. Choir Directors and Musicians pull these Songs back out to share with these Young People that it's like Ragu Sauce (The Anointing - "IT'S IN THERE")
These songs brought tears to my eyes, my husband and I began to recall the days of rehearsals, setting up his musical equipment, Doris and Eddie Wilbourne, z oh my and so many many more...What an awesome experience. I thank God for the opportunity to have been among such great and anointed talent BE BLESSED
Basic simple truths that are still ringing true today. My mother listened to gospel music from morning to evening and when I first heard this song it did something to me and it's still doing it all these years later.
“I tried him and I know him! Found him to be a friend. I know too much about him, on him I can depend!” Classic gospel music! God bless the memory of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. 🕊
Sister Twinkie's music and writing were bathed in prayer and fasting, from Evangelist Mattie Moss Clark's relentless example. Thank you Ladies, for not wasting all of your suffering; you poured it into your music. And this music is still convicting, blessing and delivering people.
Marcus Barton-Sconiers sis dr. judith doesnt have the gift ok she cant write or get along with people. people dont want to work with her she is mean. i was timothy wrights bishop washington the radio choir of ins. ok she needs to step down ok mean. ok. love her in jesus name.
Its even better in person! UNAC 1987 Detroit Michigan I remember scrambling to choir rehearsals (and don't you dare be late) for live recordings to take place in Convention. If you think this recording is powerful, you should have actually been there in person. When I tell you the anointing fell in practice and convention, trust it did. This song I will never forget practicing and singing in the International Mass Choir under the direction of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark and Twinkie Clarke. This year 2021 this song has been in my spirit since the wee hours of yesterday morning, bringing in this new year. I believe God is trying to tell me something.....listening Father....
+love me When you are singing, talking, or speaking about the love of Christ it is TIMELESS, therefore 100 years from now this song will be a hit. You just happen to have tuned into the message. One of my favorites also, found HIM to be a friend that's why.
