Hair 101: the basics- You have to lighten your hair to at least a level 9-10 before you can color it silver, otherwise you won’t see anything but a small, ashy tint to your hair. If your hair isn’t a pale yellow (inside of a banana give or take the tone) after it’s bleached, then you didn’t lighten it enough. You literally cannot lift hair without bleach. Dyes only deposit color.

Its bc ur hair wasnt bleached enough! Going through the same process rn. But u needa be pretty much platinum for the silver to be able to show properly! Def do alot of hair treatments and try again. Maybe use some Wella toner instead next time. I was considering the same box dye too but just decided i would rather go with a real toner.

It is a good one off product for learning how to reverse gray hair fast without the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my friend after many years got great results with it.
It’s more like a neutral/cool brown. It’s because grey has violet/blue/green tones in it that canceled out the warmth in your hair. Looks really nice btw.
tip to people who r looking at this colour: the first two days on bleached hair it'll be a lavender then it'll fade to grey and eventually to white. if you're looking to tone bleached hair it works amazing !! my hair turned white after it washed out (the colour i was originally aiming for when i bleached it). i'm going to try this again on my fading brown hair to see if it works as a toner / darkener and i'll edit this comment with results
I get here searching for results cuz I'm about to dye my hair with this color😂. I dyed my hair hair with medium brown 4 weeks ago and I'm just thinking if this will work just in case I continue this impulsive decision of mine.😂
I know this is old but just wanted to let you know when you bleach your hair or strip the color in anyway the hair follicle are not closed yet. It's not untypical for your hair color to basically come back because the follicle were not healed. You can prevent this by waiting before dying your hair for the hair follicle to heal, this can also happen if you strip your hair and then apply a boxes dye after.
Thanks for the video, my hair is now lighter then hers and I’ve spent over $300 getting my hair bleached twice already so far to get my hair from black to light brown to blonde. I still have one more bleach session before the silver. So much time and money, it’s exhausting.
Just a tip your hair has to be bleached at least two more times for you to put silver dye in and have it work, I bleached my hair gradually over a month before I got it to brighten up for the silver to take. Use real bleach if you’re trying again. I recommend wella lightening powder
You’re a good level 6 blind at your ends- I would love to see the results if you bleach it again to reach a level 8 at least and then apply the silver dye❤️

Lift to 10 level... Good bye yellow shampoo to cut yellow undertone. Loreal color tube 9.11 or Schwarzkopf color tube 9.5-1 deposit with 10vol developer Keep the color almost 15 minutes then comb properly to avoid patches.. Wash your hair and get awesome results.. Ola plex or wella plex is essential to be added.. to keep hair bond healthy it is good to avoid dryness as well💥
You’re so lucky it didn’t actually mess up your hair. Because it has developer in it, it also lifts hair and it could’ve turned any virgin brown hair orange!
My sister inlaw bleached her hair and then put the dye box on it and it came out looking ashy blonde. Almost close to the color on the box. Its worth a try.
Hey, you got me for this. I think it's a bit kind of Asian things. My hair is also very dark brown almost black. I used to dye my hair often when I was in university. Currently I tried bleaching my hair several times but the colour didn't seem to change at all. I use the strongest developer but my hair still looks brown. I low-key think that it is because the products in NZ where I live now, is not as strong as the products in my home country. When I was in university, only one time bleaching could turn my hair to yellow. But the products here couldn't. I failed so many time trying to dye purple. I changed the ratio of bleacher, and it could only change my hair to light brown. It is so disappointed.
You need to have your hair as close to white as possible for that extremely light silvery grey dye to work on your hair. Won't even work on level 9 hair. You need a level 10 ( the color of the inside of a banana. ) Almost white!

Hey, just saw your video, I have the same(asian) hair as yours. Silver grey or any pastel color only works on bleached hair from level 9 (pale yellow) or 10 (almost white) . I advise you use a premium bleach (at salon beauty supplies), I bleached my hair 3 times with 1 week in between to reach level 8. Also if you care about the integrity of your hair, use a bond protector like olaplex or Fibreplex (schwarzkopf) for chemical services. I simple wouldn't dare to bleach without this product no more... Exactly. I used this same dye and got a color almost exactly like the box. I started at level 10. Only problem is that it washed out really quick. Like 2-3 washes and I use really good shampoo and conditioner that doesn't strip my other colors
next time, uhm use legit bleach, not bleach from box dyes. use bleach powders and maybe 20-30 volume developer/6-9% oxidizer. the ombre bleach from loreal is designed to get that brownish coppery blonde
@@Dezzs your question is pretty vague, but I’m going to assume you mean to ask what level developer do you use when toning to ash/silver blonde. Well, it depends on the level of hair you have. You can’t use wella t-18 on level 8 hair or darker. It only works on level 9-10 lightened hair. If your hair is light enough where it looks like the inside of a banana, give or take the tone (ie could be more yellow could be more brassy) then go ahead and use a light ash/violet based toner. You’ll want to get a toner that is at least a level 9 or 10 with the letters V or A. V stands for violet based and A stands for ash, which is usually more blue based. Purples cancel out orange tones best and blue cancels out yellow. You’ll have to follow up with a purple shampoo in between coloring to keep the blonde from getting too warm again. To answer your question simply: you use whatever developer the toner specifically calls for in the instructions. However, if you want to tone without any lifting, then use a 10 developer since it helps deposits colors only. NEVER tone using anything above 20 developer. I know this is long, but I hope it helps!

I bought it off Amazon & nowhere in the description did it say it has a lightening effect. Wish I had seen this video before committing to buy it. I washed my hair today & the suds had an orange tint to it. I hope this 💩 fades out.
@@naz-nazneen886 Hi, it didn't lighten my hair, however I had already bleached it to an orangey color, so my hair was lightened that way. The color was not strong enough for the greyish light brown I wanted. So, I bleached it to a very pale orange-yellow and had to use professional dye & toner. I'm finally happy with how it turned out, but it was a lot harder than expected.

MY HAIR IS A TOTAL DISASTER!! I might attempt it at home again…using bleach first. (For my hair it’s going to be a PROCESS at the salon. 6-7 different sessions @ $180 per session! What happens if you put grey dye on orange hair? I wanna dye my hair pale blue but i don't wanna bleach it more than once bc it's really healthy and long. My hair is virgin, light brown and down to my waist, how do i bleach it without ruining it. İ like how soft and shiny it is rn
Of course that a hairstylist is the best answer 😅 but if you really want to do it at home.. There is some kind of range: level 1- black, lvl 2 dark brown, etc.. Lvl 10- very light blonde (platinum, I guess 🤔). If you're hair is light brown I guess that is level 6,7.. Never start from the root when bleaching or from the front side and never use very aggressive product for the roots. And never bleach too much at once.. Better in 2 sessions.. Depends on how pale or light you want.

Just stop. Going lighter takes A LOT of lifting, bleaching. And it takes MONTHS. And then, and only then, can you ADD color (silver) I'm not a hair stylist. But you just have to do your research. Or go to a professional. Enjoy your beautiful, natural, shiny, healthy gorgeous hair. Soon enough, you'll have that gray/silver hair. Believe me!
Like I don't get how people don't understand colour theory.. You need level 10 blonde to do any silver or grey look.. No colour other than red will come out on copper bleached hair
So if one had blonde highlights...with virgin dark brown hair... would it lighten the highlights? I have stupid hard water and my silver toner washes out in 2 or 3 weeks instead of 8!

Yea I dyed my hair grey recently. I tried to get as much as an even tone of blonde as I could but I could only go so far without ruining my hair. The grey looks very uneven on my hair and some parts didn’t even turn grey. I suggest bleach as even as u can.

Your hair wasn’t bleached enough. Twice isn’t enough to do silver. The green tone is possibly due to your bleached orangey hair. So u need a purple toning shampoo.
