i 100% agree, but funnily enough, i don't think it's in that scene. my memory may be failing me, but i think it's in the heartbreaking scene shortly before where vash kills legato in front of meryl. i think i associate it with the cliff scene cause they reconnect over rems song. oh great, now i'm crying. thanks
"If I'm reincarnated, I'd like to live somewhere where life is easier. Somewhere with nothing but peaceful days...somewhere with no stealing. And no killing. Eden. In Eden, I could live happily with him and the girls...I'm not ready yet! There's still so much left to be done! I want to stay with them! I don't want to die!"
"I picked up my first gun at the age of seven. And I shot. I remember how strangely easy it was to pull the trigger. Ha. I actually laughed. Because that one shot was all that was needed to silence that sickening piece of garbage who had the nerve to call himself my guardian. Ha. It was that simple. And so I was free..."
absolutely fascinating moment. sets the foundation for wolfwood's realist and pragmatic approach to problems. which, as we know, will later be contrasted by vaush's pacifst ways. trigun is truly an unrivaled masterpiece.
This is strangely. Even though the song is about a show about guy who won't kill, yet has the skills to kill an entire town in a matter of seconds. But he chooses not to because someone told him he doesn't nor does any else has the right to kill one another. Which is very meaningful yet it's also very comedic in which is what makes this a good anime. edit: holy i just made a whole paragraph XD
Everyone talking about WOlfwood but I remember this song as Legato talks about how worthless he is and his desire to die. "Social Darwinist" antagonists are a dime a dozen but ive never seen one who trully believes in the ideal to the point where they apply themselves on the side that deserves to die, non except Legato. Not the MOST compelling villain, but definitely the most influential in my mind for the short ratio of time on screen to how interesting I find them. He doesnt appear much, but I find him more compelling than any other short lived villain ive seen.
