Downed oak tree at Camp Pendleton. Where it had fallen it left a forked limb...Perfect for taking a dump. I pulled off my body armor and helmet stacked my rifle. Took about a 12-16 pound MRE dump. Glorious as you can imagine. Morning comes I feel another 8 pounds of MRE's wanting leave me. I go out to my forked limb and beneath it was about 300 pounds of crap. Apparently I wasn't the only person who seen that forked limb. Fucking perfection.

Classic Gentleman on my rifle I have an MRO and a surefire. I can hit 300m all day with it and I am by no means a long distance shooter. Between the aimpoint and MRO it's all a matter of preference. I just prefer the MRO. If you can get a hold of the optics try them out, see how each one feels.
@treizTUBE

I had both the T-2 and the MRO, both have the fish eye, both have the blue tint, neither is truly parallax free despite what certain companies claim (physics must be observed). The larger objective on the MRO makes these things a little easier to spot, that and forums pointing them out endlessly but when you look through the optic as intended, at a target, these are non-issues. I for the life of me couldn't figure out why the aimpoint costs so much more, so now I only have MROs. That and I prefer the turrets on top. I also prefer the lower 1/3 co-witness.

I’d take an MRO. Seems to me that it does just about everything the T1 does for cheaper, better FOV, US made, better looks (personal preference) and I’d guess is slightly more durable since they’re essentially the same but the Trijicon housing is Forged. Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think the Aimpoint is forged. Probably doesn’t make a difference in 90% of situations though. Currently I have a Trijicon RX34. Love the massive FOV and no batteries! Definitely heavy though, my guns don’t mind! Both guns ;D lol

The blue tint was on the older MRO’s and they fixed that. But the big issue is that the MRO’s slight magnification really makes shooting with NODs a chore. I have to readjust my shooting tube to match the MRO. Maybe you can do an updated review of the MRO with NODs.

I own and have owned several of these optics. x1Eotech, x2Aimpoint PRO, x2Aimpoint T1, x1Aimpoint T2, x1 Trijicon MRO, x1 Trijicon Accupower 1-4. I have put lots of time with these optics. I can tell you that I prefer the T1/T2 over the MRO. I would prefer the PRO over MRO. All do well....Both are great options in the red dot world. MRO does have a slight magnification which will be real noticeable indoors like with basement commandos. But in real world use....not an issue. Large objective is nice, knob on top is nice....I just found myself grabbing the Aimpoint rifles....But to be honest I sold my MRO and bought a Accupower 1-4 and absolutely love it

I really like the MRO. I grabbed a couple last year when AIM Surplus had them on sale for around $400 with mounts. $400 isn't chump change by any stretch but it's a hell of a lot easier to swing than the $600-800 for an Aimpoint micro. Aimpoint is a little smaller and a little lighter and I think it can mount a little lower so it's easier to get cowitness on an AK. Haven't tried too many AK setups though, just the Ultimak gas tube my Primary Arms micro clones can only just barely cowitness. Not ideal, the RS Regulate is probably the way to go. I think the main reason to get an Aimpoint micro is for clone builds. I'm not super nerdy with my clones but I have a couple guns that have a close form factor to various military setups. A gun you enjoy and is fun is a gun you will shoot more. So if cloning is what gets folks to the range more power to them.

Great video and subject matter content! Thanks for putting the video up, it's a continual information stream. I used an older model Aimpoint as well as an EOTech 512 on two different ARs, they were "okay" but the Aimpoint had a weird line across the upper third of the lens (which Aimpoint said "yeah, it's there), and the EOTech 512 was finicky about the type of AA batteries it ran, Lithium worked without issue, but it didn't like Alkalines - strange. After I sold both optics, I picked up Trijicon MRO's for my ARs, and to this point they run just fine.

I used to say red dots were a waste of money and that iron sites are all you need, but after trying a red dot I now feel like I was an idiot for not trying one sooner. @roadapple66

@Star Fiche The parallax shift on the MRO isn't any worse than the Aimpoint T1. It's just that when you move both rifles the same distance off of center: the red dot on the MRO moves to the edge (but not out) of the optic's field of view; while the red dot on the Aimpoint T1 moves completely out of the T1's field of view and you have to adjust so the red dot is visible in the confines of the Aimpoint's tube again. The MRO does have an optical aberration running the full circumference on its objective lens. When the red dot is moved into the narrow field of the objective lens, where this aberration lives and breeds, the point of impact will be off from the point of aim: This is the noted parallax shift. If you keep the red dot inside the objective lens, but not into the optical aberration, then the parallax shift is near zero. When you are indoors, look through the MRO at a blank wall, movie screen, door, or any flat light-colored surface. You will see the often spoke of "blue tint" on the objective lens. You will also notice what appears to be a darker tinted blue ring around the inside edge of objective lens. This is that "fisheye" everyone is talking about. Keep the red dot inside that darker tinted, blue ring and your point of impact will be very much aligned with your point of aim. As for myself, and many others making comments about the use and abuse of the MRO (and the EOTechs for that matter), we like the extra field of view afforded by these optics. It makes some shots possible, that would not be possible, under the same conditions: i.e. shooting from around a tire, under a vehicle, at a target that does not allow you to get squarely behind your optic. With smaller fields of view, you can't even see the red dot from your position. While using an MRO, EOTech or other optic with a larger field of view, you might not be able to get square behind your optic, but you may very well still be able to see the red dot, on target, closer to the edge of the field of view afforded by these optics. With this "less than idea" sight picture, you still have a better chance of actually hitting your target, than you do if you can't see the red dot at all. That is where these optics with the greater fields of view really shine. They are also much quicker to use when engaging multiple threats at shorter distances. Don't get me wrong, I love Aimpoint's optics! They are some of the best made, highest quality RDS's in existence. I remember using some of Trijicon's first reflex sights that the Army issued back in the 1980's. Some were huge, some were very small, and subsequently hard to use. Back then, they mostly used amber colored triangles that were somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 MOA. They used a "fiber optic" type of weird solar panel looking plastic panel, but no batteries or any other power source we could see. These were not used on any personal type of weapon, like a rifle, pistol, shotgun, etc.. They were mounted to weapons that were used for mass suppressive fire, or mass-destruction, equipment-smashing, etc., etc.; but we never saw anything like them before. We couldn't even see how they would mount to anything, but the quality was obvious. Now that I have more experience with such things, I have come to appreciate many different types of sights/sighting systems. Our war fighters have a better selection of everything than they had when I was still active duty. Now, they can be selective and choose the weapon/weapon systems, optics, sights, and anything else that is more mission oriented than ever before. I am fortunate to have been in positions that gave me exposure to a lot of the weapons/systems/optics/targeting software/night vision/thermal sights, etc. that we are using today. Nothing is best for everything, but the stuff we are working with now is very high quality and a joy to work with! With companies like Aimpoint, Trijicon, EOTech, Elcan, B.A.E., Raytheon, Leupold, Steiner, Schmitt & Bender, U.S. Optics, Nightforce, Sig Sauer, and many, many more; we have more, high quality equipment available to us than at any time before. Having people like Garand Daddy, Mr. Guns & Gear, Military Arms Channel, Twang & Bang, and others showing the differences between all of the different devices out there, and us how to use these wonderful toys, we have never had a knowledge base this extensive before either. It's a good time to be alive! Thanks, all of you!

Love the videos. One questions. What is your flannel budget? Is in on par with the "Charles in charge"? I heard it was like 10k per episode. BS aside thanks for the knowledge and insight. Much appreciated. Thank you for your service.

So we had a guy here who used a T1 with an eotech magnifier. Then one day I noticed he changed his optic to the MRO, before this I'd never heard of the MRO, so the next time we went to the range, I asked if I can pop off a few rounds, I'd used the t1 before, and of course eotechs, and the m68 waaay before that, but after using the MRO, i have to say, it's definatly one of my favorites now, I'm definatly attracted to the bigger sight picture, this makes it much easier(for me at least) to get on target, but also have a sort of awareness for my next target which is a problem I've had with optics like the M68 and T1

During basic I had to take a crap but didnt want to use the bucket they had put up, so I went some distance into the forrest and did it under a spruce. I then cut some branches of the spruce and put over it. The entire platoon then started gathering spruce branches around our base to put as ground insulation in our tents. I was nervous about someone finding the heap of nicely cut branches ready for use.....

I use the MRO and am very pleased with it. I'd likely be pleased with a T1/2. The second generation MRO has done away with the slight magnification. I use a G1 and it doesn't bother me. The blue tint is common to many red dot sights - ignore it and it goes away.

The Amaro HD has been out for two years now or so and fixed the original Trijicon MRO problems and besides having a crisp two minute of angle Dot You also have a 68MO a segmented ring similar to an ear attack but obviously not being holographic it’s much more crisp and very easy to pick up the target it has fairy garage viewing lens and objective lens the field of view is amazing for a tube red dot the only thing that I don’t like about it is the battery life of sure I haven’t had to change your battery yet but using your tax the fact that it kind of has less life that is like ughhh but it depends on which setting you’re on and what not I’m not gonna have the optical in 24 hours a day unless you’re in a calm meditation is an ambidextrous optic for lighting the recessed Terrence are kinda hard to notice the clicks but they’re there and I’m still sort of figuring my zero with the 1.93 They fix the parallax issue for the original MRO of us , there is no blue window anymore it’s clear, there’s two radical options that come with it you get 2 reticle it’s a segmented circle or just a simple dot. Comparing the original to the new HDMRO is almost like comparing apples to oranges as they as far as the negatives I would just honestly say freaking battery life and no shake awake I do kind of like the sick Romeo large optical window I might try that and do some sort of review on it but if you’re going to buy an MRO make sure MRO HD!!!

I know this is a dated tube however, the two MWOs I have are simply fantastic. I also have an old Aimpoint Comp & a PRO. I prefer the MRO over the T1 or T2. I like the my Comp ML3 & PRO simply because the longer tube seems to keep the dot tighter in regards to my mild astigmatism. Hell, I retired from the (don’t judge now) AF in 98 & all this neat shit with this technology wasn’t available to us then. It all beats what we had on those ol’ CARS...NOTHING! Since I’m not the host here; those clowns that whine about ‘fish eyeing’, blue tint, or parallax are sitting on their couches -vs- using them. You were correct in that statement. Hey, don’t get me wrong, I typically purchase the best regardless of price. Optimum word here folks is “Regardless”.

Nice! your review dittos others I have herd. tube view, right side controls, price blue tint, not true 1x You are not buying a LARUE mount for $50, just sayin. Personal preference is what it boils down to. I'm the EOTEC user / w a G33, EXP4. I got a T1, nice optic. They are what they are, so use what you want is what I say. Your POU will determine what you can run with. 😀 Thanks.

Upgraded my T1's to T2's (I own four). There's a report on arf being created (tech, not trash GD) that may show high and inconsistent T1 parallax. Personally, the T2's better glass, housing, and covers all make it worth it, plus it doesn't seem to have the parallax issues due to the updated glass cant. Too many complain about the MRO magnification which is around 1.08x. Aimpoint micros are around 1.02x. The T2 is simply the best on the market. If you can afford one, buy one.

I love all of the larger Airmpoints like my Comp M4 and Aimpoint Pro. I prefer the MRO over the T-1 for field of view and ease of use (sighting in and adjusting brightness). That said the glass on the new T-2 that I saw at the Warrior Expo was amazing!

for you who came to learn. let's talk unlimited parallax I found that aim point is off @ 100 yrds buy 12in. this I did with a colt 6920 on a table top and a sand bag. as well as a laser bore sight for the best shot. then I moved to my right side put the aim point dot as close to the side as I could. then put the dot on target. a 12 in plate. and was off my mark. I repeated this with the EOtech. and was off 1 1/2. I hit the plate. so now I ran this test 5 times each. so now what position are you in to take a shot in a training scenario or an actual self defense action. is up to you. I will stick to EOTech. but for plinking aim point is ok.
