The bad thing is these encoders/decoders cannot issue any government alert (such as EAN,EAT(Now renamed to National Emergency message) and yeah, after the government issue these alert these decoders/encoders can relay it to public stations.National Alert only exists in EAN and EAT.
So the Emergency Alert System creeps me out to the point it sometimes keeps me up at night, yet I still watch videos about it. It's very interesting and I don't know why.
Hi, I have a few questions. First, do you know what font is used for the EAS? Second, if a national alert is issued, after the attention signal, is that when the announcer would broadcast the EAN script from the EAS Handbook guide, or would that be the message from the president? And third, did you say you would like request on what you would like the alert to say? Because I do have a suggestion if you would like to hear it. A response would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!
+USEPWS 1. I have no idea lol, sorry. 2. There probably would be both the EAN script and then a message directly from the president of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. 3. Yes, I did, but it would be a while since Im currently at school for the next few weeks. Hope this helps!
***** You either have to have an encoder with a built in character generator like my Trilithic EASyPLUS or buy a character generator and connect it via serial cable to the Sage Endec
First off, I wanna start by saying I love ur vids! keep up the good work dude! Also, I have a question concerning the actual broadcast. How does this kind of stuff get past the FCC. How exactly did u not broadcast the alert over a live TV feed as u appeared to do here?
It is all closed circuit. I have no way to broadcast an EAS message other than youtube. In a few days, I will be posting a video about my EAS systems and how they are set up. I have a very new setup. Hopefully I can explain it then!
If you can, I think it would be really cool to see what an alert for Three Mile Island would have looked like when it almost melted down. So I'm asking if you'll make a Nuclear Power Plant Warning for the counties surrounding the plant, and mine (Cambria) for shits and giggles. Looking forward to hearing from you!
@@gusterbrown I found it on ebay around the time when CAP was being implemented and some broadcasters were selling off old equipment that wouldn’t comply with the (at the time) new regulations. Has to have been about 8 years ago now
@@IdkWhatToTypeHereLol well I really don’t know but he was tuned to the national EAs channel so if someone was watching that channel they would see it.
I WANT THE 2 an encoder with a built in character generator like my Trilithic EASyPLUS and buy a character generator and connect it via serial cable to the Sage Endec
No. These are physical items. As AnEAShasbeenissued mentioned, this is equipment you find at radio stations (TV stations and Cable companies also included but not mentioned in his comment) You'll have to buy an actual unit to "make the alerts".
