You are a warrior. “I’m not allergic to anything! The plants protect me.” Love that Very nice tree! Glad I stumbled on this video. I have only one plumeria and need another!
I love plumeria so much and just purchased a cutting from Amazon. I am learning how to take care of the plant; thank you for sharing Maria. I live in Texas.
Hi my friend remember you care for plumerias just like succulents when you planted you cutting to propagate it’s a little work you need to make sure not to water until the stem has roots if you have any questions please let me know thank you Maria’s garden
Thank you Maria for this tip,my plumerias are in pots because and easy to topple over in wind.I have to bring them indoors in winter, that’s why they’re in pots.I will use this tip.
I absolutely love your plumeria Maria! A limb from our palm tree blew into my plumeria and broke off some of it's branches. It looks sideways but i sealed it with the glue after a few days and it's already growing more branches. Yayyy! 😀
Your plumeria tree is gorgeous! I have to take mine out of the ground for winter then plant them when it starts to warm up (I’m in Texas). I wish I could leave them in the ground & have a tree like yours! I do need to cut back a few-they’re getting too tall & need to branch out-thank you for this!
Aahh my huge tree just fell after all the rain the last 2 weeks!!! I have to save it, but it's the worst time of year. I love your videos Maria :-) I dont know what to do, but I will get my big tree off the ground tonight, somehow. Wish I took off the leaves before all this rain lately. I am by you, in Cape Coral. Thank you!
@@MariasgardenGarden ...How can I not watch your vids. I've learned so much and the plants I've bought from you are absolutely huge, healthy, and beautiful.
sandy STP Hi my friend plumeria are the same pruning is the same to training to become larger and beautiful trees if you have any questions feel free to call at 941-457-1172 thank you Maria’s garden 🐝🐛🐝🐜🐝🐛
Thank you for your post Maria. Your demonstration was soooooo helpful. I will try this with my frangipani not cutting the tender parts. Exactly as you said where the tender and hard part meet. Can I strike the cuttings too?. It is one month from the winter solstice here in Sydney now. All my frangipani still have most of their leaves. I noticed that new branches start to form in this autumn and leading into winter period. So as my aim is to have more bushier branches...I really don’t know when exactly to prune for to make fuller and bushier. My frangipani gets a lot of gale force winds as they are on a cliff position.
María, Im watching this video again. About two weeks ago I accidentally broke a flowering branch of my plumeria tree. It is still cold here in Illinois. After one week, I took away the leaves and left the top intact. I noticed the flowers are still slowly blooming. I checked the roots yesterday and the trunk is good. I put a small amount of water, not much. What else do you suggest I do to save this branch? Please help me. My tree is 8 yrs old and in winter I keep it inside the house and it is beautiful. One thing I noticed this year it bloomed inside the house and the color of the flowers have changed from pink to entirely white with a yellow center and the fragrances just as fresh smell. I’m so happy you are back on your feet and ready to rock! Much love and take care.❤❤❤
MSALLADLACIENCIA Hi my friend I appreciate you time yes my friend this’s a very good time trim you plumeria best to trim every two years also make sure the you’re not in raining season thank you Maria’s garden
I just had to cut a branch off of my potted plumeria because of rot on a smaller stem. How do I treat the cut end on the mature plant? The rot started from previous fresh cut I had made. I want to be sure it doesn't happen again and cannot find any videos on this. Thanks for all of your videos by the way! They're fantastic!
Christine Scallon hi my friend what you need to seal all the open cuts to make sure doesn’t happen you need to seal with titebond lll wood glue FDA proved also water proved available at Lowe’s you need to make sure the stems are dry before seal the steam when you trim you wait ten day before you seal them also make sure it’s not raining for two day before seal thank you Maria’s garden
I saw this plant for the first time in Crete, in Greece. I loved it very much and although I live in an area of the North I bought one this year. It is in a small pot. In the beginning it was only the trunk with two X3 branches each. He took out branches and a sprig of flowers. I have it on my balcony and I often go out to see it, to smell it! But a few days ago I noticed that his torso begins to shrink, to become like it has wrinkles. At this point it is not hard but soft and slowly begins to bend. When I water it it seems that the trunk is full and there is no problem. But I'm afraid to water it too much lest I spoil it. I do not know what to do. It is in a small pot and is large enough. Can you help me?
Can you make a video on how to. Care for a plumeria from when you have a cutting and how to know how much to water and when not to water’ just general care for small plumeria plants from cuttings.
Hi Maria thank you very much for this video I am a big fan of plumerias and I learned a lot with this video can you please repeat what type of fertilizer you use for the plumerias to Blue I will appreciate it thank you so much you you're the best

Thanks for this excellent video. I live in Virginia and have to bring my plumeria inside for the winter. Can I trim the branches now for them to split or should I wait until the spring?
Yeah, I've Killed That Hi Yeah the best time is now because you plumeria is going to have long winter to recover from the cutting and when spring comes is ready to grow a lot steam don’t trim every year because you want you plumeria to get hard stems between cutting every two three years is about right thanks you Maria’s garden
Hello, Maria. I'm from Texas and my plumeria almost died in the freeze we had a while back. My tree has come back to life but won't sprout any leaves and won't grow any taller. Any advice on getting it to start growing again?
Hi Maria, I just got through watching your video one of them anyway I subscribed. In the video you say not to water the plumeria cuttings well of course do I watered it and now I’m leaving the country for three days when I get back is it too late to take them out maybe cut it again and start all over? Your answer would be greatly appreciate it. Thank you. Have a beautiful day enjoy Florida and I love your accent.
Thanks for info. I live in South Florida and Irma ruined my plumerias. Now when there's a hurricane I dig them up and put in my garage and replant after hurricane season. What pruner are you using please?
I really appreciate your video. I have started over 60 plumerias but worry about shaping them. Is there a way I can contact you privately for more advice. I’m in California so they tend to go dormant in the winter. I don’t how to do a private response or chat or what ever it’s called. Thanks, Jeff
My plumeria seems to be like it’s drying a little towards the root/where the trunk begins. Is there something g you suggest for me? I would hate to loose it :( other than that, it looks to be really healthy & with big leaves!Thank you so much for your help Maria!
Hello, but I have branches that need cutting back where I can not see green growth? also I live in California. It’s Oct. We sometimes get rain in winter sometimes not. Sometimes rain in spring sometimes not. What to do? I have one that’s like a 5 foot tall stick I need to cut way back to encourage branching way low. It’s very old. I need to move it I think. It’s in shade.
Maria, thank you! Was trying to figure out how to make my plumeria grow new branches. I have two cuttings that are about five years old. One with three branches and another with two branches. Will the main trunk continue to get taller if I force more branches?
hi my friend if you’re just coming out of spring and the plant it’s blooming and growing it’s not recommended to trim your plumeria until next fall season or in the bigger of spring all depends where you located what you need to do cut about 3” inches in each steam and wait t o year before doing again thank you Maria’s garden
I live near Punta Gorda in N. Ft. Myers. I bought a home with a beautiful plumeria, and it's grown in 4 years to over my roof. Also, by August my lawn and garden plants are deep with brown leaves. Those leaves are becoming a problem and always need sweeping off the patio and raked out of other plants. We need to prune it because if we don't, my husband is going to chop it down. It's too high now to trim from a ladder. I'd like to save it from being cut down. I think we need a professional to come trim. Advice?
I live in st petersburg fl and have two that were recently damaged by a large tree removal. Should I wait until hurricane season is over before pruning ?
Caroline Blomquist hi my friend the best time to prune you desert roses it’s before winter ❄️ time when you weather get between 40 to 50 this way the be ready for summer thank you Marias garden
Hi Maria. Beautiful. My plumeria only grows leaves..never blooms. And every year it is afflicted with rust..leaves all fall off. which I have researched. It is airborne spores. Wish it would bloom
Judy Vega I use homemade insecticide soap right when it starts to come out of dormancy... Even if it doesn't need it.. plus cut all bad or infected leaves off and tie in plastic bag.. so nothing spreads. It made a big difference for me this year doing that. After winter dormancy I water mine every three weeks with a product called Cha Ching 9-50-10 but not on the leaves. You can actually see the difference in only three or four days. It's a small bottle but lasts forever. Good luck! 😃
@@MariasgardenGarden thank you Maria. I removed most of the leaves because they all had rust beginning and I'm going to be getting some rain with hurricane Michael so after that I will apply some fertilizer 💜💜🌼🌼
Hi Maria, I have a sick Plumeria tree that needs some serious attention. I am going into the winter months here in CA and want to make sure it survives. I would love your advice. I think it needs fertilizer. What kind do you recommend for the winter months?
mema lucky/California warrior hi my friend the name of fertilizer it’s osmocote 14-14-14 slow release you apply about every 4 or 6 months please read the container the have one for 4 months and sometime for 6 months thank you Maria’s garden
My tree is a little bigger than yours. But how to I trim the branches that are beginning to hang too low? It makes it difficult to walk on my path in the garden the branches constantly hit my head or I break by back trying to doge them 😂 pls help!
Dear Maria, I’ve planted a plumeria too close and on the wrong side of my house. Now it is tall and leggy. Can I cut the trunk and transfer it over to another location making 2 plants?

I live in S. California and have a starter Plumeria Tree that's only 2 years old. I had it in a Pot but decided to plant it into the ground about a year ago. My leaves are having problems. They are turning Yellow with Browning going on. Can you tell me what's happening and how do I correct this problem?
Dawn Wagner princesslgunab Hi my friend Dawn this plant is beautiful but every year goes dormant and lose all the leaves and next spring comes back don’t you worry don’t do anything or water the plant is doing what plumerias do thank, you,Maria’s garden thank you for watching my channel Maria’s garden
We're having a rigid cold long wet winter.those colors are normal.plumerias hate prolonged wet soil.and even worse the cold .below 50 they say is bad.i live in West Los Angeles .in my backyard it gets down to low 40's.i expierence symptoms and leaf loss at 55 degrees.so most cultivars are not cold tolerant however singapores Alba's,and grenadine Aztec gold, common white n yellow, solid whites pretty much go year round.so what u r expierincing is normal.if this happens in summer then there's a issue like too much water or a nitrogen deficiency.
Liz Boykewish Hi my friend best if you air dry for about two weeks after that you can place them into dry soil for for weeks after that water light when dry the top of the soil only thank you Maria’s garden
@@MariasgardenGarden the reason I'm ask because I live in NC and my husband uncovered and she got frost and I have to cut a because look w to soft se estava prudriendo so I was wondering if I put sinammon or glue because is to cold in here 😪😪😪😫😫
Liz Boykewish ok my friend this’s what you to do with your cutting make sure you cut all the rot after that you need to apply cinnamon and let air dry for about five to seven day after that you need to place into dry soil and don’t water for four five weeks after that you need to keep one inch of the top of the soil moist when dry and when you weather permits you need to place outdoor for good when you weather gets 50 to 60 degrees and water when dry thank you for watching my channel I appreciate thank you Marias Garden

@@MariasgardenGarden What a beautiful tree! I love it! Thanks for sharing your wisdom. After you've cut the branch with the bloom, is there a way to plant that bloom and make it survive somehow, perhaps indoors? I have a bloom that has survived the start of winter, and I want to save it before all the flowers fall off. Is it possible?
Hi my friend I don’t know what state you ate the bast time to trim your plumerias it’s when they’re not growing during winter or in the bigger of spring according to you temperature you maybe to late thank you Maria’s garden
I have a tree about 5 ft tall. I have never trimmed it. Can I trim all the branches at the same time? I am in south Florida, so I may wait till the end of the month. I am looking for a plumeria other than pink, do you sell plumerias also?
Davison Thomas Hi my friend yes you can trim all the branches at ones make sure don’t trim to much only about two inches in each branch and apply cinnamon you don’t need the glue for plumerias what I recommend to trim you tree every two yes to get it fuller also I have a friend the has a red plumerias you don’t believe the color is amazing 🐝🐝🐞🐞🐞
Richard Lewis Hi Richard you can grow cuttings any time very easy dry and dry soil for two to three weeks don’t water until you see roots this work 100% thank you for watching my channel thank you Maria’s garden

Rainy season in FL is done so there's no need to seal since it will heal itself before any chance of rain getting into the cut. Maria mentioned the rain not being an issue in this video.
