Last SMW level, last Canadian level (outlasting all American ones), most plays of any uncleared level... and yet it's only twelve seconds long. Pretty crazy accomplishment. EDIT: it was tased lol, actual credit for the last level goes to creater_06 who sadly did not get the credit they earned for making the actual last level, which was The Last Dance. (The last clearer was Yamada.)

*THE OFFICIAL AHOYO ANNOUNCEMENT:* "TTH was made to be unreasonably difficult and to cause a ruckus. I put effort into promoting it in 2017 so that it could be played, dissected, and scrutinized. Once that would happen I would announce that TAS existed for SMM. I did not expect that it would go unnoticed or perceived as easy from watching the video, or that it would take nearly seven years to be uncovered. The sunk cost fallacy of wanting to follow through with the failed troll, combined with new IRL responsibilities, allowed the nonsense to continue. I knew about Team 0% so I let things be until they would uncover it. I delayed uploading bombs5 until the uploads shut down because bombs5 is also illegitimate. I deserve no credit for either, and will not deny Team 0% their victory. From attempting to upload bombs5 I developed tendon issues in my thumb. After some breaks and noticing they weren’t healing properly, it became unrealistic to continue. Once I accepted this, I felt a sense of relief. Someone had messaged me about a TAS they were working on for the Wii U. In a video they sent, it seemed to me like they had it working, but they told me they were abandoning the project. The TAS was replicated by my friend after two days of building. . Because I had already resigned to leave streaming and pursue other things, and suddenly had a working TAS, I thought that the bomb guy should go out with a bang, so TTH was constructed. The PogChamp contest was made because I wanted there to be a venue for kaizo enthusiasts to gather. The judges were doing a live viewing of the contest levels, and I let them know that I (intentionally) broke the timer rules and that after showcasing TTH, they should disqualify me. The past week, when the time bomb finally blew up, things escalated quickly, and the community was divided, which was not my intention. I’m sorry for the drama it caused within the community, and I regret the ordeal, but at least it was interesting. However in the end the truth matters most. Congratulations to Team 0% for their well-earned achievement! SMM is cleared, and The Last Dance was the last level!"

Ahoyo has been released from their curse. Trimming the Herbs has been beaten legit. I hope that, on some level, this puts your mind at ease, that you did not create a level unbeatable by humans.

This is currently the ONLY level in the entirety of Mario Maker 1 that has not been cleared yet. This level is going down in the history books. Edit: This was confirmed to be TAS'd by the creator and The Last Dance was the final level to be completed in Super Mario Maker! Good work everyone!

How Bombs5 was cleared *earlier* than this is beyond me.

Possibly the deadliest part of this level is just how... unassuming it looks. Theres a good chance that had people noticed and started grinding on it since the start, it wouldve been cleared. Now were in the endgame and this is by far the biggest obstacle remaining. Edit: Only a few days before the servers shut down, TTH has officially been beaten! Although SMM1 was technically already beaten by now, this is an amazing achievement nonetheless.

The last Super Mario Maker level being a 12s one is something my brain cannot comprehend This is truly one of the hardest levels of all times

--The absolute sickest part about this is that this level was originally just made for a contest [the PogChamp in the title] to create the coolest/most unique 10-second kaizo setup you possibly could.-- --Dude pretty much created the most impossible 10 second level in Mario Maker history by -*-ACCIDENT.-*--- Also, I can tell you: The hidden difficulty in this level is *off the charts.* Even slowing the video down to quarter speed, you can probably only appreciate about 1% of the hidden difficulty of it compared to actually trying it yourself. I decided to "experience" it for about 20 minutes and I couldn't even complete the transition to the second piranha stack. --I still believe in Team 0% getting this down soon; with four weeks to go there's only five levels standing besides this one. But it's gonna be a herculean group effort.-- oh.... well then. I guess its insane difficulty wasn't nearly as "accidental" as I thought.

...and then there were 2. This level is a monument of the human spirit and stands proud in the face of a mission to beat all SMM levels! it's pretty incredible...

Your explanation of the plan you had for the level-to post it but then reveal it it was a TAS, and along the way announce the existence of TAS tools for SMM/WiiU, is an incredibly good bit. It’s a shame it didn’t work out, and I even kind of like the trollish instinct to keep the secret for a week or so during the home stretch of Mario Maker. If somebody had beaten it, it could have been a spectacular reveal (bombs5 getting beaten is all the more impressive)! Respect for stepping up to let the community claim their victory. I’m still holding out hope that somebody can do it by hand before the cutoff.

This might be the first time in history a "cheater" came clean about this sort of thing and actually had a good excuse. Kudos to Ahoyo! However, I still feel like it may be possible someone beats Trimming the Herbs, even if it WAS TASed. Not humanly possible is still possible. If Mario Bros speedrunners can be almost TAS-perfect for five minutes, who says Mario Maker players can't be TAS-perfect for just twelve seconds? At least there's not as much pressure on those attempting the level.

It's finally complete. We all worked together to take the last dance while we trimmed the herbs. It took many hours of blood, sweat, and tears as we all started to give up. Thousands of people were sent to trim the herbs, but most of them left. Finally, one person, through sheer determination, managed to trim the final herb and avenged everyone who failed to trim them. And once they were trimmed, we all celebrated with the real, last dance. Congrats to everyone in Team 0% for this incredible accomplishment, and I can't wait to see how it goes for SMM2!

Can't believe after all the hype turns out this was TAS'd. Wish we had a less depressing ending to the story.

I actually believe in the time left, this level can be cleared, humanity has cleared the impossible with TAS perfect inputs in other games for much longer periods of time in the games played, so this level must be possible if much harder gaming feats have been done by humans

So sad to hear this was a TAS, i was actually super invested in the level actually being beaten legitmately as i thought Ahoyo had beat it legit. Oh well, thats a big RIP for a final level :,(

Funny how everybody thought this level was the last of its kind, when in reality it was the first of something else entirely. I love the story behind this level, it's a shame things didn't work out as planned.

The penultimate level that was cleared is called "The Last Dance", because, now, in "Trimming The Herbs", we are no longer dancing; we are fighting for our lives.

This level has managed outlive Muncher Stairs, Beast Needle, and God knows how many other TAS-like levels; at this rate, it might even outlive all 9 of Japan's remaining levels too. It'd be no exaggeration to say that this has become one of hardest levels in all of videogame history.

I still consider TTH 'legitimate' in my head, just because it makes for a great final boss and I want it to hold true for the purposes of clearing every level. The only thing the last dance has going for it is the name and other than that it's pretty much just another level, while TTH is practically a JRPG level final boss that has been secretly and quietly gathering strength unbeknownst to the world since near the start of the story, and now the world itself has to collectively rise up and stand against it united in one collective effort before the end of the world arrives. This is it, this is the entire world's story, the greatest evil to be defeated.

Most people could tell this was TAS but the creator did post a statement and i feel he shouldn’t be attacked. He came out and explained everything and gave team 0 percent their well deserved victory. If he was truly evil he wouldn’t have done this and would have left the game unbeaten.

Ahoyo, the fact you made a TAS level was in a way, the PERFECT send off to SMM. To finally have it beaten by a human as the final trial, it is actually quite beautiful

Cheating is bad but at least he confessed it, still the level is possible so its worth clearing

The day after the servers go down, Ahoyo is gonna come back with a mountain of evidence that he completed the level legitimately, and made up the stuff about a tas, as gamesmanship to discourage the community, and hopefully break their resolve to win, so he becomes the ultimate bragging rights king, for legitimately clearing the one level the community couldn't crack.

I’m glad you went ahead and explained this was TASed, while it’s definitely sad, these hate comments are completely unnecessary. Beast Needle was a level almost certainly uploaded by TAS, and if the legendary KingBoo didn’t spend countless hours clearing the allegedly TASed level, Whoever uploaded that level would have had the same comments given to them as did you, I don’t exactly believe you deserve all this hate, but if this level was miraculously cleared during the time frame until now, You wouldn’t be hearing any of this toxicity. This doesn’t mean that you were not in the wrong, but I am deeply disappointed in the number of comments hating and being toxic to you.

Gonna be tough for those grinding it - I wish them all the best! EDIT: Even in the midst of the TAS admission, it was STILL cleared legit, so TTH really WAS the last level. So glad to see SMM1 in the history books with 100% completion

TASing the herbs

Fired up my copy of SMM1 and gave TTH a go. I'm not at all a kaizo level player as it stands, so it was fun to mess around with. I probably put in 75-100 attempts and I can count on one hand the number of times I managed to trim ONE herb (before quickly dying). I guess technically this makes me part of Team 0%, though lol

Reading a lot of these comments putting Ahoyo on a pedestal and it turns out this whole time he faked it. What a shame.

That was very honorable of you to admit that this was tas. As Barberous King said, you were a kid when you did this, and kudos to that! At 13 and 14, I was experimenting with drugs and crossing the border with pounds of weed on my back, and would have been happy to learn to use technology had I had the opportunity to do something that's pretty creative. Right now I live in a sober living home for addicts, so I've done my fair share of disappointment in my life. Take this experience and run with this. You did something that though is silly, will be remembered as something huge in the video game world!

It’s very funny to me that through the millions of Mario Maker levels, the very last one not beaten is not a 5 minute long intricate puzzle, not one of those Japanese levels where you can only beat it by using an exploit, just a 12 second long single room level, made by some guy in Canada. What a way to go!
