I would guess that T & T gets more rainfall than Barbados because the vegetation is a darker shade of green. I too noticed the good roads, clean streets and no abandoned vehicles left by the roadside. I remember reading T & T has one of the largest bitumen deposits in the world.

YESSS❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 Princes Town is really beautiful! Glad you're not just limiting T&T to Port of Spain and San Fernando! Some other beautiful towns are *Chaguanas* , *Arima* , *Point Fortin* , *Sangre Grande* and *San Juan* to name a few, in addition to *Princes Town* ❤🎉❤❤❤ Cannot wait for this video 😊
@ricko2301
@ricko2301 6 месяцев назад
What is beautiful about Sangre Grande? And I lived San Juan for most of my life, what is beautiful there? I'm not being negative but what would stand out for someone to visit those places? Arima too?
@trinibago7682
@trinibago7682 6 месяцев назад
@@ricko2301 @ricko2301 Why didn't you ask that for Chaguanas and Point Fortin? Each town encapsulates the cultures and urban/downtown life of people from those respective areas. It is where they come out to shop, lime (hangout), etc. The *San Juan* Promenade and all streets and roads and commerce heading out of that central point is very iconic with San Juan, maybe you live life on some pedestal or high horse, so you only see the negatives like "too many people", "too much commotion, traffic, urghhh, i hate it here!" So you will never see it theough the lense of beautiful. However, African Tigress is here to see THE everyday PEOPLE of T&T, how we live. She is HUMBLE, the key to enjoying life's subtle gems. *Arima* is like a mini Port of Spain, it does not have Skyscrapers (yet) or waterfront but it is a booming town and everyone knows Arima for the Arima Dial and Velodrome, much like the Queen's Park Savanah. There are manyyyy commercial centres there as well as Transportation hubs to different locations. The Bus Route also begins there. *Sangre Grande* is the biggest and busiest town in Eastern Trinjdad. People from Manazanilla, Toco, Salibay, Balandra, Valencia, etc, come here to do their shopping, access government services, hang out with friends or get transportion to other parts of the country. The iconic Roundabout in Sangre Grande is very special beacause it leads you to manyy, totally different parts of the country (Toco to the Northeast, Sangre Chiquito, Manzanilla, Mafeking to the Souteast, Valencia, Arima, POS to the Eastwest, Ojoe Road, Biche and so on. The backdrop the Police Station makes from the Eastern Main Road, lined with all the major commercial buildings is stunning. You won't experience this beauty with a negative mindset, or when you are stush and only see things through a scornful lens. Get out the car, walk with the people, experience the subtle splendour of everyday life. Yet, there are homeless, the crime, some roads thanks to wasa are in a mess.... but what are the positives? Some countries only have ONE town, we are blessed with several and each have their own unique flare.... its how you look at things need tweaking until you can appreciate it. *Princes Town* is beautiful with the Princes Town triangle in the centre like how those Ruropean towns have a square in the centre and the commercial buildings are built around it. Each of those towns I called has their own unique "Trini-ness". If one only finds a place with Skyscrapers and Waterfront should be beautiful, then that's why tourists only limit T&T to POS. That's the point of this video..... not everywhere is like that..... maybe in the future.
@jesusislove328
@jesusislove328 6 месяцев назад
@@trinibago7682 Perfectly said! I love all those channels of local vloggers showcasing these towns. They'll either do a walking tour or a driving tour and it helps you experience the town life with them, if you cannot actually go yourself. I also like a page *Sangre Grande is Life* she does a great job documenting all things Grande. They had an Emancipation Day Parade in the streets of Sangre Grande this year and the entire video is posted here. Also, Sangre Grande has Ganesh Utsav parades, Corpus Christi and Palm Sunday parades every year. Its a beautiful town. It was pin-pointed in the Manifesto as the country's "Next City" once the Toco Port is built and, currently, the CHR Highway is being extended here. That will be completed in June, and the new Hospital will be completed in May. Both are progressing, there are videos posted on that too! Guaico, Sangre Grande is especially seeing lots of development too.

I think it is important for her to see the Pitch Lake. It will be good for people to see the lake and how it is mined for asphalt to pave our streets and export. I am sure many people who are watching from other countries may not be aware of this. She should arrange for a guided tour there. I know there are tours with the company. "The Pitch Lake is the largest natural deposit of asphalt in the world, estimated to contain 10 million tons. It is located in La Brea in southwest Trinidad, within the Siparia Regional Corporation. The lake covers about 100 acres (0.405 square kilometres) and is reported to be 250 feet (76.2 metres) deep." (The latter was copied from Wikipedia). African Tigress, don't forget to also show people the tassa drumming. It is part of T&T culture.

African Tigress, no disrespect to you, and thanks for your videos because you are also showing us in the diaspora what our islands currently look like. Some of the locals have not seen much of their own island, and also lack knowledge about certain things or its history. This may be due to people's different lifestyles. I suggest you do a bit of research through the official government sites, historical articles, and a few videos before going to a place. It will be an asset to your visits. I find that a lot of visitors don't do that, don't use official tour guides, and miss out on a lot. Also, if you have time, try to see a bit of the Indian culture in central and southern Trinidad. They also have historical places to visit and their race now has the largest percentage of people living on the island. Don't miss out on some tassa drumming. When going on a road trip, could you do a digital route, if this is possible. You are doing an excellent job. I look forward to your future series on life on the smaller Caribbean islands.
