Trio Rypdal Vitous Gurtu [FULL CONCERT] 1995 Live in Stuttgart 

Trilok's the man. Been listening to him for over 35 years, saw him live a couple times, by himself, with that wonderful trio with McLaughlin... etc... he is pure and 100% magical.

A magical concert...the way these three gel is incredible. Gurtu is like an entire weather system!

I only found out about Terje Rypdal about 10 years ago in a mates HUGE vinyl collection and his 70's period albums get regularly played. Likewise I found trilok gurtu on the john mclaughlin album and was simply blown away I had never heard percussion like that before.

I like how Rypdal is always ready to explode on the improvisation.

Very, very nice - thank you, Billys. Track 5 is the title track from a Miroslav Vitous album - the first I heard him. Love that album. It has the great Joe Henderson (RIP) on tenor sax and John McLaughlin on guitar - probably my favorite version of Freedom Jazz Dance - great outside version. I instantly fell in love with MV's bass playing. This vid also shows his wonderful playing, and of course Terje's and Trilok's. My first awareness of Terje Rypdal was buying the album, After The Rain - an eery, haunting, pulsing album that is perfect for when you've stayed up all night and it's 4:30am. Ah, memories....

That's music for living souls.Greatfully!

Rypdal is a great musican and has the special ECM Norway Viking sound from the High North Mountan and vallys. Vitous and Rypdal goes way back and have also made great special EC; sound music with Jack Dejonette

First discovered Terje in 1979 with the legendary Miroslav Vitous and Masterful Jack Dejohnette...a timelessly incredible piece of work on the ECM label . And then came the amazing Trilok with one of my long time guitar heroes , John McLaughlin...Trilok is a phenomenon unto himself

Tremendous. When Miroslav plays "folk" melodies (as I say), the feeling is so bright. His playing is beautiful throughout. Thanks for posting this.

I heard this great Guitar player Terje Rypdal many years ago with Yan Christensen on Drums ECM record so beautiful sound, Trilok Gurtu is also wonderful in this expressive music

I need to begin listening to Rypdal more...his sheets of atmosphere always take hold of me. Trilok is simply fantastic crossing cultural genres with ease. Vitous, always sharing his insight with us. I first heard Baba with the John McLaughlin Trio....nice to hear still alive.

Rypdal is one of my main musical influences (along w/ Jan Akkerman, Allan Holdsworth, among others). This video (I've had the dvd for yours) is a master class.

I discover Rypdal because of Vitous, I don't know if he always have this sound, I just wished an hollowbody guitar for him without a rock 1970 sound, anyway that is interesting

My all time favorite live show, Trilok and Terje are two of my three most favorite musicians with Miles being the other. MV is great too. I have the DVD of this. Wayside Music has it cheap.
