I was in a parking lot at a grocery store with two other Uber drivers the other day. I don't know them. They don't know me. But I could hear their uber orders coming through their car Bluetooths on each side of me, as I'm sure they could hear mine as well. There we sat for 20 minutes or so just declining absolute dogsheet requests one by one. I've never been more proud. Eventually I had a solid Lyft request come through and drove off. But I'm proud of those two boys. Fellow low acceptance rate warriors. The answer is so simple. Pay me no LESS than 1.00 per mile. The reason why I do 75% lyft rides here in Buffalo is because Lyft is SO much better at this. Most lyft rides I see and take are paying 1.29 - 1.49 a mile. I can work with that all day. My lyft acceptance rate keeps going up. It's almost at 50% now. Meanwhile my uber acceptance rate keeps sinking. Down to 24% after this evening.

I fucking love driving. I wish so much that I could continue to do Uber. The socializing, the decent pay, being my own boss, I all miss. I left in March for a tech job, I like the stability but wish I was driving rather than staring at a computer screen. I hope Uber could turn around down the line, although I'd bet a large amount of money they won't.

I half think that the true purpose of Trip Radar is not to just send out lowball offers and have drivers scramble, but to figure out which drivers will try to accept these offers so that Uber knows what pricing to offer the drivers on regular trips. Trip Radar is just psychological research on each driver

I love Sergio for what he does to help drivers and he may understand math, but he evidently doesn’t understand economics. It’s called supply and demand. Now the supply is crushing drivers with no reprieve in sight. Nobody at rideshare guy is going to tell you this, but I will. Quit driving and find other ways to make money asap. I realize that may be easier said than done for many drivers but rideshare is a losing proposition for drivers that’s only going to get worse. The sooner you get there, the better it will be for you and your family. God bless and please be careful.

@@sergioSMTMC1 they arent all reject rides. i was getting constant $10-14 rides farther away from where i was to the vegas airport this morning, i was just cherry picking for the closest pickup, and then a trip radar for a spot much closer than what they were throwing at me for $18 comfort ride and i snagged it up. i have a hard time thinking that someone would pass up on an $18 comfort ride when everything else being sent out is $10-14, which at that moment of the day was the overall average with light surge being tossed around....so taking anything would have been fine, i just didnt want to play go fetch 2 miles away. not all radar rides are "rejects". in fact, radar rides are often offers for rides that show up before they are even sent out as an exclusive ride. i have had tons of people tell me how fast it was picked up. they arent reject rides. i dont think you understand how radar works. the issue with radar is it often shows rides that are 10-12 miles away as if anyone is going to drive that far to do a pickup. there needs to be a filter to weed those offers out. im not defending radar, its often annoying AF. but i think you are flat wrong that they are rejected rides. hell in vegas because of kickbacks at certain drop offs....we dont give a crap how much the ride pays because we know we getting hooked up....and no way is ANY drivrer in vegas going to pass on a ride going to a kickback and i see those all the time popping up on radar regardless of how good or bad it pays.

Is a joke how much money they now take from the fare. Also, with no bonuses anymore, I used to take a few garbage trips, knowing I would get a nice bonus. I took a rider to Farmingdale NJ he paid close to 40.00 and I got 19.00 . He wouldn't be calling Uber again 😊😊

I think the craziest thing I saw today, I was sitting in the heart of Downtown LA and it wanted me to go to the Valley for less than $10. I was like, drivers don't want to go to the Valley anyway. Now we're not going to pay to even get on the freeway? Hollywood is the same. You could be right on the Walk of Fame and it's like, Go to Universal for $5. Go to Studio City. Go to North Hollywood. These prices are the same as going down Sunset to West Hollywood. We're not even going to the same area code anymore, for crying out loud. We have to do highway speeds. This burns gas!

Trip radar can be helpful. Especially if I am looking for a trip going in a certain direction or if I am looking for a short trip to use for a surge, or if I am looking for a trip that keeps me or takes me to an area I want to be in. I like the flexibility of trip radar. I dont want rides being forced on me with a ping that don't interest me. In Denver, trips to the airport are usually unprofitable and I hardly ever want to go there, so I hate getting ping after pinf trying to send me to the airport. Trip radar is a way to avoid undesirable pings and helps me have better acceptence stats. I would rather choose that interest me and trip radar can be a great tool.

Hi Sergio I drive in Houston Tx area I am getting exclusive trip now this vlog I come to terms exclusive but I still declining them. Even the comfort trips. I was in old concept when one level above Uber x was comfort separate icon I bought 2023 Chevy equinox with old concept but after buying they confirmed me in a day you will get only four trips. They mixed shit with urine when they like it they present as urine otherwise shit so I say hell with it now I decline comfort trips too due cherry pick. Trip radar is illusionary when you accept trip they say other driver pickup or trip no longer available. Uber CEO will not come to sit with you for interview because you will asked tough questions which can cause some damage to Uber business. Second the previous Uber CEO Travis kalanic had done successfully demolished the taxi business but now they stuck themselves in business that they are facing criticism by investors and driver and vlog by you.

The pay offered for all the trips are ridiculously low. Only the customers make it if they get their ride or delivery. If they tip low they aren’t getting anything and no tip they shouldn’t waste their time even trying.

It's designed to create a sense of scarcity and competition and train drivers to accept any job immediately. This is obvious. It serves no other purpose. The algorithm was already designed to assign jobs to the nearest/best driver for the delivery already. Once again, it serves no practical purpose other than to create a mindset of scarcity and competition amongst drivers.

Hey RSG, the problem for Uber and Lyft is not enough drivers to accept the trips. Whatever company pays more will get the most drivers who will accept more trips and that will make the company who pays more, make more money. I drive in a small but relatively wealthy city with no upfront fares, when I do reject a few trips(based off of pax rating & pickup distance) the algo does this bee-es where they flash a good trip to me on trip radar that immediately disappears as if to tease me with the trips they woulda gave me if I was a good boy🐕 😂 You can just imagine the meetings they had to develop that feature, innovation!🤣

So I have a question about how does mostly receiving Trip Radar offers, how will they get their numbers up to the “Advantage” level (not that the 5% is any incentive at all). Declining TR offers isn’t supposed to affect a driver’s AR. I’m so confused with what they are thinking by rolling this out!

Dara won’t talk to you because of economic difference. You make $10 an hour for engaged time. Dara makes $10 per second every second of the day and every day of the year whether he’s awake or asleep. $10 x 60 seconds x 60 minutes x 24 hours x 365 days = $315,360,00 per year. That’s about right with his salary, bonuses and stock options. What a driver makes in a typical 10 hour shift with about half of that as engaged time at $10/hour (you can decide for yourself if that is before or after automobile expenses), Dara makes in 1 minute during REM sleep.

"Where bad trips go to die" may have been the strategy but lately it's been flipped. Trip Radar seems to be Uber's FIRST choice. Then if nobody wants it, they'll send it to you as an "exclusive". Best I can figure is if nobody wants the trip on TR, then they will try threatening your acceptance rate to bully you into taking it. They are busy making all of their drivers and customers hate them. This cannot last much longer. Dara got his bonus though so it's all good.

Standard in advantages definitely nothing about the 5%. It is 100% about separating the drivers. Give the drivers an except everything all the rides because they accept everything. Price every ride low. On the off chance one of them does reject one of those low-paying rides sending in the trip radar to the drivers that have low acceptance rate. Because they're not getting any work fed to them now they are desperate and they have bills to pay still so they have to accept these trash rides. If they declined the very rare trip radar ride they may not get another one for an hour or two. Ask me how I know. In Austin I have actually gone an hour and a half between trip radar rides even being offered. There are enough of the desperate drivers out there that accepted everything already that there's nothing left for the drivers that actually were cherry picking. I literally had to drive to a concert venue to even be offered a trip radar after an hour of being downtown Austin on a Friday night with no ride offers. And even then I was only offered trip radar. Uber didn't even have to put up a surge price when 15,000 people got out of a concert because they were so many drivers willing to work for $4 for 20 minutes. And that was Uber's estimate. Four minutes to pick up while Lyft was saying 15 minutes to pick up the exact same distance.

Uber is leveraging the desperado drivers. They don't care about passenger comfort or driver satisfaction. They know that for every driver who declines a garbage ride, there are five drivers that don't speak English and drive 250k mile beaters that will take the trip. Won't be long, all rides will be on trip radar. They just keep chasing bad ideas with more bad ideas. We know the solution is to charge the rider fairly and pay the driver fairly so everyone is happy, but that it is not their business model. That is not the corporate business model in America anymore. Greed is not a business model, it's recipe for failure. But as long as the shareholders and the people at the top get theirs, fk everyone else.

I am a driver, and I'm sooo disappointed in, and angry at Uber for cutting my pay at every opportunity they can find. That being said, Sergio, I have to tell you that your own anger shows, and is making you sound disrespectful when you talk to the CEO. I'm not surprised that he doesn't want to go on your show to be asked questions in this manner.

Let's get rid of driver acceptance rating and driver's ratings in general. Uber needs to incentives, like with Lyft. Turbo plus bonus during high demand. Lyft pax tip MORE than Uber. Plus, allow us on Uber to rate pax 3 stars to auto unmatch and to change it within 24-hours. I give all pax 3 stars on Lyft unless they make me wait, they get 1 star. If the tip comes through within 24-hours, I change the rating to 4 stars I had this miserable rider this morning, took the full 5mins (I'm on a ride challenge). Then precedes to try and direct me, I tell her I've been doing this for 8yrs. When I drop her off, she's like "At the corner." I said, "I know, I see the building. You don't have to direct the driver when the entire ride you barely speak a word." Just be quiet and let the driver safely pull over. 1 star, but with Lyft I won't see her again And with Lyft, you automatically get 5 stars when the rider doesn't rate you, nonethelss, it should be gotten rid of for drivers

Without drivers there is no Uber maybe true but it's not reality. The reality is there will always be drivers willing to work for slave wages in America as long as we allow everyone into this country. Just like we farm out all of our manufacturing we're farming out all of our gig app service industry. People are coming from countries just trying to be in America. They're willing to have 20 30 people living in a single house giving all of their income to a single person just for the ability to remain in America. They are literally slaves but it affords them the opportunity to one day be more. They just have to figure out how. But it also means that people trying to support a family and actually make decent money doing gig apps like Uber will never be able to make decent wages again. I'm not a person that believes get work should be part-time to supplement your full-time job. Gig work should be an opportunity to make substantial income. It was a way to make substantial income won't even the company was profitable. But now that gig work has been inundated with slave labor from South America and Africa and other third world nations, it's no longer an opportunity to make acceptable wages in America. I am not about government regulation. The government regulates the lowest common denominator. Those people that think renting a car is a long-term solution to be able to do Uber because they have no idea how to be self-employed or what to look for when it comes to optimizing profitability especially when taxes are involved or the lowest common denominator. Most people that think that they should make 15 to $20 an hour, they are the lowest common denominator. When you regulate to support them, you regulate to destroy the opportunity that drivers that know what they're doing have. If you tell the company they must pay $20 an hour then they will pay $20 an hour. Can you tell the company they have to pay $30 an hour then they will pay $30 an hour. Then they will put in things that limit people like me for making $50 $60 an hour.
