Insightful video. I do frequent Bombay a lot, but I think it will be some time before I fly there with Air India.

Thanks for your comment. Where I flew this route from, London, there are far better options. British Airways send their A350 with a good cabin, and Virgin Atlantic also send their A350 on the route. Vistara deploy their 787-9 on the route too and I've found Vistara's seats and food to be miles better than Air India's. And of course, we can't forget Air Canada's fifth freedom route which they use the 787 for. That cabin is also pretty neat. Honestly, the other Air India service in the day to Mumbai is on their 787, which is honestly a filthier mess than this 777. Hopefully the seat refurbishments on the 777 and 787s this year and next year will bring some serious upgrades, because the seats on the 787 and 777 are simply inadequate for 2024 standards.

Air india needs to fix all its interiors of old planes ASAP ... The new interiors of air India A350 currently only flying domestic is awesome. I wish they soon rollout the good stuff

Thank you for your comment. Yes agreed. I honestly think that the product that's on their own (not acquired) 777s and 787s are honestly horrid and are not 2024 standard. Hopefully the refurbish of their cabin can elevate their experience. But then again, that will take a while. The A350 will begin to fly international. Sadly as is the case with even the newer 787s Air India have, the cabin has been trashed and destroyed. Hopefully the same doesn't happen to the a350 and more people are able to enjoy it.

@@SimpleAviation all the new product aqusition after the privatization of the company are up to the standard , including their low-cost brand AirIndia Express , best way to distinguish that is the Livery .

Air India Express 737 MAX cabin is gorgeous! But then again, that's only around 5 planes. The rest are all ex-Air Asia planes.

@@SimpleAviation yup ! The orderbook is long it will take time, there aren't many new planes available as much as needed for indian market.

I believe Airbus or Boeing is planning on establishing on setting up a final assembly plant in India as the demand is so high.

Great review. Air India really have a lot to improve but hopefully when they get their 777x’s they’ll get rid of these old 777s. If there was one thing I could ask you to do in the next video is just to keep the subtitles on for longer. Like they’re displayed and a second later they’re gone, so maybe just make them stay on for longer. Other than that great review

Hey, thanks for your comment. About your comment on the 777Xs, I seriously doubt they'll be arriving for another 4-5 years. They are confirmed keeping these old 777s; albeit, a seat refurbishment has been promised. I reckon the A350s they're accepting now are to compensate for that; if I were to predict what routes they'd fly, I'd say Mumbai/Delhi-Dubai, and then Mumbai/Delhi to London LHR. I'd probably also think they would be on some North American destinations. Secondly, about your comment on the subtitles, I'm really sorry. I'll definitely make sure to remember your comment whilst editing my next review. I do try and see if everything is at a decent pace, but I will make sure to slow it down if it's too fast in the future. Thanks for your support!

Air India modernization program for old aircrafts is likely to complete by end 2024. The 500 new aircrafts ordered are slowly being delivered and added. The video below is about the new Air India. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1fCBpRo-5xI.html Regarding airports the London Heathrow is quite poor in its ability to handle # flights, passengers which lead to delays, poor services and extremely long immigration wait times.
@SimpleAviation
@SimpleAviation 4 месяца назад
Hi, thanks for your comment. Funnily enough I had just finished watching that video. The A350s have lots of potential, I agree. Regarding your comments on London Heathrow, it's really just a trend with some of the world's biggest airports post-Covid. There's obviously been a huge surge in passenger demand and travel, so more and more passengers are passing through the terminals, past its carrying capacity. The delays are mainly because the London airspace is one of the busiest in the world. Aircraft are often forced to hold on approach because of the sheer scale of arrivals from around the world. With a 3rd runway, Heathrow does aim to solve the solution, but they seemed to have dropped that in favour of another plan.

You are very lucky to go on an ex-Etihad B777, but Air India still doesn't take care of its planes. The only positive I have heard of Air India is that the crew are very friendly?

Crew were fine yes. I wouldn't really call flying the ex etihad aircraft lucky, but boy am I pleased I didn't end up in one of Air India's own cabin aircraft
