Thanks so much! Yes, only this train doesn't stop at Ostrava main station, because on the way from Opava the train would have to change its direction of travel, which would increase the travel time.
Supercity is always operated by Pendolino or class 680. But dont get me wrong there were cases where non Pendolino trains were used such as Express Train set. But those are like backup in case the unit has breakdown.
Hi Pete. I always enjoy your trip reports. I was wondering if there’s a chance to do another report on Leo Express. I wonder how the economy plus class looks like. And how connections in Prerov are made for trains to Stare Město u Uherskeho Hradiste.
Another great video! Always love to get some draft Pilsner on the Pendolino. I have to say that I hope you don't change the format of your videos too much in the future. Nonstop Eurotrip started speaking in his videos and personally I don't think it's as good as just letting the footage and captions speak for themselves.
Dodnes si ještě pamatuji, jak Pendolino jezdilo i do Brna z Holešovic, touto trasou jsem jel když mi bylo asi 8 nebo 9 let. Jeden z nejlepších zážitků z cest vlakem. Ale už je to asi 12 let, co SC přestalo jezdit na Jižní Moravu.
Pendolina z Holešovic si také pamatuji, myslím že jezdily až do Bratislavy. Ale myslím, že směr Brno má teď lepší vlaky, za mě je Railjet asi to nejlepší, co zde jezdí :-)
Trochu Turniketwagen, ale znám horší.. jinak před rekonstrukcí to tak nebylo, dříve byly vozy číslo 1 a 2 první třída, až po té rekonstrukci se z vozu 1 udělala 2. třída - tichý.
Pendolinem jezdím celkem rád, většinou když jedu z Německa, tak v Chebu přesedám na Pendolino do Prahy. Jídlo v bisro voze je dobré, ceny jsou také celkem přiměřené. Díky za video.
Díky za zhlédnutí! Pendolino je celkem fajn, zvláště 2. třída. Já se dříve Pendolinu spíše vyhýbal, ale poslední dobou jsem si tento vlak celkem oblíbil :-)
Hey there! What a fantastic trip report that you brought here! Another full "Yes" list is shown since SC Pendolino trains are considered the highest standard in the intercity rail service over there if not mistaken, just like the ETS Platinum class here in my country. :) Starting with the Opavan Station which is architecturally beautiful and clean inside. The welcome drink must be a glass of champagne, was it? Despite being the highest standard of all the intercity services, I found out that the price of the food seems affordable by European standards and also offers a huge variety which is a huge plus. I'm glad to see that renovation is ongoing on most of the vital lines in the Czech Republic, good job to Cseke Drahy. Keep going om, man Cheers from Malaysia

Currently I have prepared to edit R26 line Arriva train from České Budějovice to Prague via Písek. Now I plan to film Bechyně to Tábor line and InterCity train from Český Krumlov.
4:40 its not dining area, its normal 2nd department where you can get a ticket (altough if its empty you could theoreticaly sit there and eat), normally you dine while standing in the bistro itself And sitting in Bistro car 2nd class is best, since you can take the food from bistro with you there, and have it on porcelan, in actual glass :D (would post a picture but youtube deleted the links)
Pokud by v 1. třídě bylo alespoň tolik místa na nohy a seaty co v railjetu + nějaké seaty v leteckém uspořádání a místo tiché zóny by byla 1+ v podobné úrovni jako je v railjetu tak pak bych tomu označení SC klidně dal - byť mám SC stále spojené s "Manažerem" z roku 1997-2004 (tuším, že jezdilo Ampz-Apee-WRmz-Aee-Aee) ale 680 je klasický only 2+ IC vlak, protože rozdíl mezi jedničkou a dvojkou je jen v potahu sedaček a paradoxně ty ve dvojce mi přijdou pohodlněnší - seaty mají vzdušný potah, v jedničce stačí krátký rukáv, kraťasy a člověk se na to za chvíli nalepí... Mě osobně vyloženě iritují ty koženkové podhlavníky, mám holou hlavu a je to fakt nepříjemné - zlatý railjet. Celkově když jedu z PCE do Ovy, tak se snažím najít spoj s Amz a jsem třeba rád, že místo SC co jezdil až do Frantovejch jezdí teď souprava s Amz, což je oproti 680 nebe a dudy, 160 to dá v pohodě a 230 se u nás hnedtak jezdit nebude a i těch 200 bude jen na určitých úsecích... Být to na mě, tak bych 680 nasadil tam, kde to naklápění využijí více (Děčín - Praha - Budějky, Praha - Cheb po obou stranách, Praha - Brno přes Brod apod.)
doufám že nějaké pendolino místo do Opavy nebo nebo Chebu, kde se to plouží 80tkou, přesunou po zavedení ETSC na pěkný moderní 4 koridor do Českých Budejovic, kde bude moci na stále zatím jediné trase v ČR využít rychlost alespoň těch 200 km/hod, Jel jsem pendolinem sice jen párkrát,ale vždy bylo jídlo po naservírrování skoro studené, tak doufám že se to zlepšilo.
Myslím že by to byla ideální trať pro Pendolina, ale obávám se že zůstanou primárně na trase mezi Prahou a Ostravou. Na Jižní expresy co jedou jako InterCity je to poměrně krátká trasa a do Linz jsou proměnu moc dlouhé, tak je kvůli délce nástupišť v rakouské části trasy možné mít jen 5 vozů (nepočítám lůžkový vůz z Curychu). Ale docela by se mi líbílo místo protažení z Ostravy do Františkovek a K. Varů prodloužit je na IC do Budějovic. Jinak co se týče jídla, stalo se mi to loni také asi 2x, ale letos se to zlepšilo, jak příprava jídel tak i kvalita personálu.

Zdravím :-) Na tomto kanále bych rád nechal videa tak jak jsou, ale uvažuju že bych k nim časem přidal mluvené intro. Ale poslední dobou přemýšlím o druhém kanálu, který by byl v češtině a videa by byla mluvená.
I am curious about the warning notice, which was sent by ČD to ŽSR about the poor condition of the Slovakian infrastructure and about the possibility to changing the vehicle composition of the SuperCity train to Košice since the derailment in Žilina. It is really pity, because the Pendolinos are designed right up to tight curvy lines as under the High Tatras.🤔
Unfortunately, ČD now have a shortage of Pendolinos, currently only 5 units are in operation, one is permanently out of service and one is undergoing long-term installation tests of the ETCS system.
@@PeteBrandy But still all the operators are complaining, because the maintenance cost of the vehicles entering Slovakia. From.the worn off wheel running surface profile to suspension issues, near everything. The years of total negligence...
The Pendolino uses tilting system on this route, but mostly the Pendolino's advantage on this route is that it can shorten the delay. Otherwise, the timetable is usually set with a time reserve for classic trains, and the Pendolino must also fit into the interval between other trains on this busy railway line.
What I am surprised about: It seems like there are no travellers at all. Not a person to be seen on the platforms. Unbelievable. Cesky Drahy is one of the best railway companies in Europe and deserves better !.... It's hard to find a downside with them. The prices are relatively low, the trains clean and comfortable, and also on time. And then they are also one of the last companies to have restaurants with good and affordable food.
It was a busy Sunday service. 2nd class was almost sold out and in 1st class I purposely booked a seat in the section with the fewest reservations. Trains on the route Prague - Ostrava are usually busy, half of the passengers board at Ostrava-Svinov station and half at Olomouc. It looked empty in the video because I always filmed the platform from the side where passengers were not boarding. Only no one boarded at Pardubice, because there are already many trains that do not have an extra charge for reserving a seat.
@@plonss these are high class trains, there is no reason for it to beying that crowded as common trains, also on some routes, a lot of people will board in later stations like Pardubice in middle of our country
These seats in Italian made trains, with people facing each other, are a mistake :( I remember riding a Frecciarossa in Italy 5h from Venice to Naples and how my legs hurt after that - because I was unable to straighten them a single time, because of people in front of me - and it still was called "Business class"
The Czech Pendolino used to have a different seating arrangement before reconstruction. But I think that the main problem in the premium classes of high-speed trains is the layout of the car body space, when the seats are mounted according to the spacing of the windows.
But when train is not crowded, it's actually better. I am pretty lucky when I go somewhere in 1st class that seats around me are mostly empty. Bus like seats can be also terrible, everything depends on leg spaces. When I traveled to Croatia by bus, I thought I will die there, in a train, you can at least go for some walk. 😀
Prečo nie je zárukou? Minulý rok som cestoval Pendolinom na SK v tichom vozni a sprievodkyňa aktívna upozorňovala ľudí na to, že nesmú robiť hluk. Už sa tak nedeje?
Bohužel tichý oddíl poslední dobou už není zárukou klidu, skoro každou cestu se najde někdo, kdo v tichém oddíle telefonuje, jen minulý týden mi psali 3 lidi co měli problém s hlukem v tichém oddílu a mou poslední cestu Košičanem byl 2x průvodčí upozorňovat rušící cestující..
Good job. 🙂 Ale ☝️ - já mám raději IC 514 Opavan - jede stejně dlouho jako Pendolino a je levnější. Přitom komfort není o nic horší. 😉 Když chceš stihnout schůzku v Praze brzy dopoledne, není lepší vlak. 🙂
Díky! Ano, ve směru z Opavy je ideálnější IC 514, ale ten zas není časově moc vhodný pokud cesta začíná a končí v Praze, proto jsem jel ráno z Prahy s přestupem v Ostravě a zpátky mi vyhovovalo jet Pendolinem (SC502).
