I flew this airline recently. It’s sole existence is to get past the regulation preventing airlines from flying to Venezuela. Laser airlines used to fly to Miami from Caracas nonstop. Now, laser created a subsidiary: Red air. It could still fly passengers to America without violating the new rules. I’m so glad I got to visit the Dominican Republic on an MD-82. Those JT-8D engines sound beautiful in person.

Great video! nice to have some footage of these MDs as they expect to retire them on Feb 1st and their flights will be operated with wet-leased A320s. Fun fact: the captain of your flight went to high school with my dad.

Looks like an interesting airline. Sad our schedules couldn’t match otherwise this would’ve been fun to fly together. Maybe I’ll try it and do a trip report on it! Great video!

I have flown on a few MD-80 aircraft and lots of DC-9's. I always have favored Douglas aircraft when flying too. There was a time when the DC-9 flew into Fort Wayne quite a bit. Now it is just regional jets.
