I’ve been to Dubai once. I’m trying to get back. Their food markets are amazing. They have a lot of variety. You can also call the market and have them deliver food to your door for a tip. The last time I went was in 2014 and I spent a month there. I cleared my checking account because I brought so much stuff, it was ridiculous

I live in Abu Dhabi. I go to Dubai every other month to get my braids. They have braids shops in AD but I have grown to love the ladies where I go and I don’t want to go anywhere else. Glad you had a good time.

I've been to Dubai on an extended layover (48 hrs) and honestly I didn't know there was so much to do in this one city. I saw some of the sights downtown, the world islands, and the Burj Khalifa but that was it. Maybe one day I'll stay a bit longer.
Yes you better have a luxury family trip. Luxury isn't just for adults. People also stay thinking that travel only happens before kids but this is a perfect example of traveling with kids. You get a fun experience & the kids get their lives enriched from a young age by learning other cultures. I died when one of them asked if they feed them in the mosque 😆

Please don't ever go back to dubai. Life is not about luxury. People are dying in the dangerous workspaces to support the luxury. They have been trapped in the country to be forced to continue work in construction for a low wage. And the city has been a hazard to the enviorment in operation and building it.

I mean, when it comes to Human Rights Dubai is even worse than the US. There are two East African countries fighting to get their citizens back after they were "enslaved" in Dubai. There are plenty videos of black and brown Asians servants/maids telling the abuse they got and how their passport have been stolen by their employers but the gov don't give a damn because once you are a black/asian maid/servant in Dubai chances are that you'll stay stuck there. I'm glad to see black people travel but at least not in a country where slavery and lynching are still allowed .

However, discovering the hidden truths about Dubai just reminds me that ignorance is bliss... but not productive. Best case senario they improve working conditions, willingly or by force, by the time I arrive
