Trip To Get Paint & Welding Gas 

Nathan stop I've been watching you a long time and contribute from time to time with cash but I used to own a body shop okay the paint you got is not going to come to that gun you got if you got one of those Wagner type vibrator they only shoot real thin things like stain you know if it's really really thin it'll go to a vibrating Wagner type spray gun best thing you should have done is go to Tractor Supply TSC they sell paint to Farmers it's the same paint auto body shops use you can get a gallon of black for like 20 bucks it's crazy and they have primer there they have hardener they have everything you need and you can get a cheap gun to spray it at Harbor Freight and hook it to your compressor and go at it

Yessir once you get back on the road you're definitely going to be getting some attention! Patches will definitely turn heads! I hope the rain holds off I can't wait to see it painted dude it's going to be awesome!

go get farm equipmet paint/primer from a farm store, atwoods/tsc, it works well i painted my car with atwoods primer and paint and its been years with no issue and sits outside in the weather! save yourself the headache i used harbor freight air guns that i got for 9.99 .

Go to Tractor Supply or some place like that and look at the farm equipment paint. It is more like automotive paint but not as much shine , made to go over not so perfect surfaces and cost usually $50 to $100 a gallon!

Do you not realize that by spraying a primer now and leaving it in the elements you are creating way more work for yourself next spring? You can’t leave primer in the elements and then immediately spray with paint. It’s primer, it’s meant to be used as an adhesive prior to an immediate painting, not a protectant from the elements. You’re going to have to essentially sand down completely, and then apply primer again before you paint. Just use raptor liner or something like that dude. You aren’t prepared for a paint job. You’re making things way harder on yourself than you need to.

Any chance of making a makeshift paint booth with tarps and steel or wood to keep the rain off when the time comes? It may keep things moving along during the rainy season too. I wasn't sure if that'd be an issue for the land owners though. Those prices are pretty wild for paint, we did Rustoleum paint and primer, rolling on our bus, for less than $200, going thick with the paint! Then again, our finish won't be as nice as your paint gun finish!

Can't wait to see the paint.. That rhymes. Keep it affordable... If it is good for painting / prepping for a later to be added final paint layer on metal placed outside in the open exposed to the elements; it should be appropriate for Patches I suppose. But don't wait to late with the final coat of finish paint. Preferably not longer then two weeks or so; and keep patches covered when in primer only!

But you will have to scuff every inch of it it's all got to be scuffed by at least200 grit so so the paint will stick to it and you got to get all that oil off of there you can do that with Lagos there maybe Windex but I think lacquer thinner or prep salt prepprep sal cost money

Was the car audio store gone? I was feeling your pain on the auto parts store paint, those were some CRASY costs!!!! I’m not sure if those insane costs were from Napa or not. As much as I love buying local, there are times I can’t justify the local Napa costs. The local Napa owners are truly great people! After reading the comments and personally truly knowing nothing I’d research what the people are saying about T.S. I know it’s a longer drive but if the other commenters are correct it may be worth the additional money spent in gas.

Also you don't need primer you can just get regular oil based paint and shoot it on there
