I remember years ago when I worked in an office in a rural area, an elderly gentleman came in to pay a bill after a local farmer was spreading manure on his fields. His comment was “it’s a good clean smell”. :). Not sure about the clean part but it is a natural smell I guess. Thanks for sharing your travels. Anything you find interesting, like grain elevators, art, churches, we will find interesting too! Take care.
Manure spreaders, followed them down the road back in Vermont. It seems like a good cycle. Feed on the grass, then feed the grass. I miss Vermont. Thanks for the ride! I think whatever you find interesting will be interesting. It has been. Love to see how the barns inspire you. I wish you tbe best!

Yes I’ve been there also and great cheese as well the drive down the coast was also great and the smell of the ocean not as strong of manure in the air but distinctive non the less, great memories with my x GF she was from Sandy OR.
Understand the nostalgia of smelling fields after the manure spreaders... I get that sometimes when it has been a while since I smelled a skunk. I am in Ontario too, but so strange to see you without the mountains in the background.
Love your videos - Not so hot here in SW Ohio this Saturday morning - a break from last week's weather but then they say we'll get rain this next week when the temps are cooler (of course - cooler temps you can get out and walk but can't in the rains like we've been getting).......maybe one of these videos you could demo some of your cravings - my mother carved a wooden plaque of the maples trees in her back yard being tapped for the syrup - they lived NE Ohio off of Lake Erie. - good seeing you and the drive you took - out in the country with all the cows and pigs.....Love it......take care - stay safe and well.....mla

We have a big dairy farm close to where I live in Ohio. They have the very best ice cream, you can get cheese curds and other dairy products there also. I grew up on a farm in KY and our milk came straight from the cow, we made butter and cottage cheese also. We raised chickens and had fresh eggs, raised our own vegetables, had fruit trees, raised hogs and beef cattle. We bought very little from the grocery.

Yes you are right most small towns/cities have big Catholic churchs. Your drive is much like our midwestern area. And I enjoy the smell of manure Cow Horse,Goat. Fresh spread on fresh tilled fields. Pigs on the other hand are sour. So not so much. But grass feed indeen

I didn't know Alberta had a cheese factory. It's great your going into Ontario. Oh Canada, Glorious and free. How much I miss it. Believe me Canada is a lot cleaner than a lot of other countries. St. Albert. is quite nice and quaint. After the fire they built it as much as they could I guess. Believe me every part of Canada is a blessing when you haven't visited for awhile!

On Friday night my Dad always brought pepperoni and cheese curds for him & me nobody else liked it. As for the manure smell we had a small 125 cow dairy with solid manure which wasn't bad, then we built a 500 cow dairy farm and the manure was liquid which yuck the smell.🤪. If you're ever on the Oregon coast, stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory - you can see the production line. Best cheese in the world plus jerky and sausage.
when i was young, i would go to my father who live in the country and it smell manure. when i came back to the city to my mom, it smell sulfur from the gas reffinery.
That smell of manure in the air, especially when they spray the fields with it....where I live, in the southern part of Denmark, we call that "the smell of money" in the air.
