Triple 9 Actors Chiwetel Ejiofor and Anthony Mackie talk British vs. American Actors
In TRIPLE 9, a crew of dirty cops is blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist. The only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for “officer down”. Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the attack, triggering a breakneck, action-packed finale filled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.

Messed up not asking any Marvel Questions. Chiwetel is in Dr Strange, and Mackie is in Civil war.

He's right, British actors TAKE OVER on American Roles (Idris Elba). So many of them.. Australian actors too (Jackman)
@TheFever77

Because they're classically trained in London, not fast tracked through Hollywood like many American stars.

Steven Johnson actually, there aren't many American actors in the UK. America is where all the production is at. All the star power and such. American movies go globally. British actors go to America to work for a living, but very rarely will you see a brit take over an american role because theyre too demanding. For example, Emma Watson was cast for the lead female role in La la land but she made crazy demands, so they told her to go fuck herself and hired emma stone instead.

I also never heard the term frontfoot before, but contextually I figured it means the film is kind of abrasive and you want actors who will turn it up a notch to match the tone.

I have to say, I am really disappointed in this interview for sound quality. I'm surprised of all your 5,877 views no one has said this. BlackTree TV it was pretty hard to hear the interviewees, but I can hear the interviewer perfectly. It's just too bad.

Yep, but they're usually the ones who have already 'made it' and they come to extend themselves (Spacey), or hone their craft. Whereas, a lot of British actors go to America to 'make it'.
@Ayo.Ajisafe
@Ayo.Ajisafe 3 года назад
@@graceygrumble I think most British actors go to Hollywood have already "made it". Just because Americans haven't heard of them doesn't mean they haven't made it. In many cases they would be on TV in the UK or they would have been on stage. I don't THINK many British actors just go to Hollywood with an empty CV.

Lol it’s because Americans don’t need to work in Britain….for what? The business is here. I’m tired of this notion that the Brit’s are better. They are not. I don’t think anyone is better. Every country has its actors and that’s it. However it was the Americans who changed the face of acting forever. Brando did it by himself

i hear you. but hear me out. in the 80's-90's, our public schools put on a lot of plays, since then budget cuts hit the arts and music programs first. So we lost a lot of kids first entry into discovering formal acting techniques, in the UK the arts are still very important and I believe that is why you get a lot of trained actors from there, doesn't mean that none of our actors are trained or talented, just feel like there is something there. something to the fact that british actors with depth are a dime a dozen
