On October 23, 2017, 89, 90, and 475, Strasburg's currently operating steam locomtives, all teamed up on a triple header pulling a vintage freight. I recreated this event in Trainz, and I am happy with how it turned out.
Hey 1225 I have a question. Which Trainz do you have because I'm considering purchasing trainz simulator but I don't know which one is right for me? I feel like Trainz 12 is the way to go but just wanted to hear your recommendation since you own it yourself. Thanks Matt
The Comet Matt, Thanks for the question. I have a Mac, so I have a limited options for Trainz. I use Trainz Mac 2 (Trainz Simulator 2 Officially). It’s essentially Trainz 12 but for Mac. I say that it’s overall very good, but it is older and has less features. Some features it doesn’t have would be the better textures, lighting, effects, etc. basically all the features TANE (Trainz: A New Era) is known for. I don’t know much about TS19 so I can’t give an opinion on that, but I do know TANE does have its bugs. I don’t know what they are because they get fixed and then another one happens. I say Trainz 12 is a good place to start at and then build up. If you have a good enough computer than TANE or TS19 runs very smoothly, I’d say buy them, however, they are more expensive. I hope this helps. -Mark
I didn't get to see the triple header. But for the two days I was there I saw all 3 engines in service plus 8618. I did see 475 on the freight train tho
@@photonegativemickey3733 go into your content manager and hit edit in finder for Mac or explorer for windows and then do the same for the whistle file for 89. The drag the bell sound into the 90 whistle file and a prompt will show up asking if you want to replace the file. Click yes. Submit edits on 90’s file and then revert back to original on 89’s so you don’t lose the bell for 89
