Great video! It was super informative. I would say I have a rough time with stiff wrists and thinking I need to do weird stuff with my feet to jump higher!
Form inconsistency is my biggest mistake, because when I'm working out and my biceps get tired, i tend to lift my arms up, and that makes me trip over my rope, so i think i need to develop resistance first.
Awesome man! Unfortunately, I don't ever do doubles on one leg so I don't have any ground breaking tips for you. You could try doing alternate leg doubles. That may help you hit the rhythm. Otherwise just keep focusing on building that max du speed and single under speed. Good luck bud🤘 let me know if I can help further!
If you can move it fast enough for your jump height. I like it for triples because you keep good feel in the rope. If you need to go down in rope weight, try a 3 oz rope. That is one step down but still has pretty good feel while gaining some rope speed. 2 oz starts to get pretty light and can take time to generate the feel of the rhythm.
There isn't necessarily a specific length, but a shorter rope is faster/more efficient. I would say standing on the rope you would want the handles under nipple height. Mine is at my low rib cage.
Best tip from the video is working up your max single under speed for longer durations. Triples require a really good feel with the rope at max speed. They took me time to get down as well so don't get too frustrated 🤙
The slow motion sections on this video were really helpful. Love the way that the perfect timing was shown. I.e. rope passing under on the ascent, then on the "hang", and then finally on the descent. It may seem intuitive that these are the things that you'd expect, but actually seeing these things in action goes a heck of a long way. Thanks coach!
Thank you! So glad you found it helpful. Tempo control is huge and most people don't work on it. That is the biggest difference in going from singles to doubles to triples. Let me know if I can help further. Cheers!
This video will be here when your ready dude! I have a DU tutorial too. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KAKPhFUQGgk.html Let me know if I can help further!🤟
I'm starting to get 1 TU more often after I discovered that I need to start with 2 - 3 max speed DUs. I also cut my rope as short as I can to give the rope a smaller rotation path around my body. I'm going to try your drills with my 1 lb rope.
hahaah, no way!!! I thought I was pretty cool because I could do a 'double' but I can't imagine being able to do a triple! Now I'm going to have to really practice!
@@foolishyish 1. Jump as late as possible. The closer your rope is to going under your feet that first time the better. 2. Developing your max rope speed and maintaining it for 15-20 seconds is big. You will find inconsistencies in your wrists where they will get out of sink and this kills your rope tension and thus your speed. Keep practicing, but be careful of the extra impact and explosiveness that triples demand. Shin splints or calf strains can creep in.
I never considered going from speed steps to doubles; going to have to try that. I'm stuck at stringing one or two triples at best although I can do a series of 100s and "flight simulators" unbroken. Thank you for the tip. Hope you're still around, you have very good teaching energy.
Thanks bud! Ya the speed step transition allows you to hit the rope speed before entering into that double then triple. Triples take some practice to get the rhythm down because it's so fast. I remember when I first got them I then had a hard time with doubles again because of getting so use to shooting for that max speed I kept over shooting them. Mastering tempo control and generating the feel for the rope at those high speeds is the key and it comes down to repitition. Since you already have a couple, you are on your way!🤜🤙
I have a challange with my dad that if i hit it in one week i get 1000 Euro i praktisch jump ropes for 2 das now and i can double jump but i struggle with triple ones
My 1/4 lb ropes have lasted on avg. 1.25 yrs each so not too many surprisingly. I have started jumping on a mat and that bumped my last one up to 2 yrs I believe.
Pretty much the same length as doubles. You can always add a knot on one side or shorten slightly more for added speed. It just requires stricter form due to less room for error.
Kyle I am giving you such big props for this video. I know this is such a hard skill to master. Way to coordinated for me. Got a new subscriber because I really like the quality of your videos and the skills you teach. Great job
I think the concrete adds a little resistance to the rope slowing it down a bit but if you skipped on tiles or had a skipping rope mat it would decrease the resistance or even having a cable rope would help you do possible quadruple unders
When doing triples your rope isn't hitting the ground much since rotations are occurring in the air, but yes there are faster ropes. Thanks for the comment and watching!
Nice one Kyle!! Your rope looks pretty small with that knot too. Do you typically do DUs with that 1knot setup as well or did you tighten it up even more for the TUs?
Hi Nancy, I do a lot of my speed work with the one knot. I can actually do my fastest DU's with 2 knots, but two is too short for triples. It cause me to trip up a lot. Gotta find the happy medium.
A lot of people man. They have over 80k people in their Facebook group and have lots of reviews. It depends how much you like to jump rope. If it plays a big role in your fitness it's definitely worth it. If it's something you do every once in a while go cheaper.
Form inconsistency when doing triples. I learned a bad habit of pushing down arms when I go up. I’m slowly breaking it, but hand placement is important especially with short ropes.
Definitely. A slightly shorter rope is good for triples, but you can overdue it. I put one knot in my rope and it ends up perfect for me. 2 knots and I trip up a bunch.
Jump 15 yeah. I had to add about 4 inches. For doubles I have a smooth ride with 7’2 but I’ve had to go to 7’6 for a triple. Still haven’t mastered though, but that is because of lack of trying. 😂
@@Jump15official I follow you on IG. I will tag you there. Currently, I can do triples but more like randomly and the form isn't great. Glad to see your tips and will fix my form and timing. :)
@@boyclassic6225 nice! You just have to continue building the stamina past that 80 point. Here are some tips for blasting thru that plateau. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7sWn0IgCucE.html
