I completely understand how dad felt. I truly didn’t want any girls until I had my daughter. She is the greatest gift God ever gave me. I was slightly sad at the gender reveal for a while 30 secs then as I watched her on the screen, saw her moody personality shine through, I just fell in love. Everyone reacts differently. That doesn’t dictate how they will be once the baby is here. This little girl is incredibly blessed to have 2 great parents in her life.

You could clear see him bring his hands up like 'Ahh' as in a joking manner cause he knows what he's about to get himself into. I know friends who were upset they didn't get the gender they wanted and they still cherish and love their kids! Moms usually want girls and dads usually want boys. When my dad was in the hospital when I was being born, his father-in-law asked him if he was hoping for a boy or a girl. My dad answered that he couldn't care less about our gender and was excited to be a father to a healthy baby. I ended up being a girl, and I'll always be grateful to my dad.

It's not always the case, I have an uncle who was hugely disappointed his first child was a girl. And when his 2nd child was a boy, he completely neglected his daughter and even beat her. I'm not saying that this man will also do the same, I'm just saying it's not always the case that a father loves his daughters.

@@euphoriared382 yes very true. But most men I've seen ( including my dad) who wanted a boy child and got girls, they accepted that daughters bring the greatest joy and satisfaction. My dad loves me with all of his heart and I'm the only child , my parents didn't even wish for a son anymore. The same happened with my cousin. He has twins daughters and he seems to be the happiest person on earth.

Being disappointed about your child's gender is really very heartbreaking. Growing up as the girl, who is the youngest in the family with two older brothers. It’s very difficult, but of course I love them very much. I always felt left out because all my friends had sisters and would talk about the girly things they did. But I played video games and was a Tom boy. I was never usually treated like a little princess. Sometimes on a rare occasions by my dad. But the only people who would all the time was my grandparents and my mom. Problem was my grandparents lived far away and my mom worked over time everyday, and my dad worked from home.
