I flew on their A340 to Hong Kong last November. It was aging already and they ran out of my preferred meal choice but the plane was well maintained and the flight was smooth and pleasant overall. We flew their 777 to BKK weeks after. The IFE system helped but a refurbishment definitely won't hurt.
Hope PAL will join SkyTeam, OneWorld or Star Alliance soon. The service is improving. I tried PR last Sept 2017. Manila to Sydney and back via new A330-330 reconfigured cabin. New seats, IFE touch screen, meal, snacks, unli drinks, amenity kit since it is an overnight flight. The cabin crew did a great job. Keep it up PR! Five star na yan bago mag 80 years old!
Cebu Pacific? Seriously? IDK if you are being sarcastic here but Cebu Pac is 10x worse in terms of delayed flights. It is so bad that whenever my friends and I book our flight with Cebu Pac, it is like we accepted defeat and submit to the fact that we will definitely in for a delayed flight. Cebu Pac flights are just cheaper that's why we bear with them.
TurboChargex its the same delay, maybe cause of runway is always full? Try to be open to any, try something new and you will know whats thw difference, i tried cebu and pal in a 1 hour flight same price , cebu doesn't have meals and PAL has.also PAL has IFE in longhaul flight.. cebupac is always have an issue.
bryronify Ive only experienced at least three or four delays on Cebu Pacific. It’s probably because of different routes. Sometimes, delays depend on the routes. Whether it’s heavy traffic, or heavy winds. And anyways I’ve barely seen any PAL flights delayed, besides on typhoon season...
Philippine Airlines, a true 4-star carrier. If it continues this kind of service and improves in some areas no doubt it will attain a 5-star rating. Great review!
carleone saga, I don’t mind. If you say so, just letting it go tell First class, don’t exist with Philippines Airlines, also they are used with new airshow this long time in 2018, but being an stupid, will just letting myself.
I think it’s cool that you used the stairs coming down from an international flight. Wouldn’t it be awesome if you used the stairs too to board the 777? Not accessibility friendly but really cool!
IT is Very surprising Philippine airline a 4 Star airline can offer a decent meal. While Cathay Pacific a 5 Star airline Will only offer you a Lousy inedible sandwich and only bottle water.
Jacqueline Te true I was on my second leg of my trip from Sfo-mnl on the hkg-mnl they only gave me a sandwich in a box with oj I was like in could of just flown Philippine Airlines and it would of been a direct flight from Sfo-mnl and get 2 full meals!
Flew with Cathay last december, and there was a good breakfast on board on board at the flight from Hong Kong to Cebu, and on the flight back a good warm meal.
I flew with Cathay back in 2014 (CX 906 MNL-HKG on a B77W) and i agree... they only gave us the chicken fajita burrito thing 😂 It was pretty good though, but not enough :(
Wow!Thank you for making a video of our flag carrier😊Hope you had an amazing flight😊I've be watching your videos since last year and I was hoping that you try our flag carrier and here it is.Thank you so much😊
The route is short but they are using a big plane. Cebu - Hongkong is a 3 hour flight. Hong Kong has probably the highest passenger numbers per trip in Manila. That's why they are using big planes like the A330, A350, and the 777-300ER.
Finally ive been waiting for this triport and i remamber that i commented to do a PAL triport and gues what it really did mabuhay PHILIPPIME AIRLINES THE HEART OF THE FILIPINO
Wow!!! What a great and a lovely flight Philippine airlines! Hope to fly with Philippine airlines someday with a long-haul flight! And also Mr. David the blogger says "Salamat, at magandang araw...". Thank you for flying our country plane in Philippines! Salamat po!
The Airport In Manila Is Heavily Crowded, That's Why The Airbus A380/B747 Is One Of The Best Solutions & Adding A New Airport! & Anyways I Love Your Reports, Keep Up The Good Work :)
Lucky you Manila to Hong Kong we just returned from Vancouver from manila it’s a long one in economy ✌️👍 it’s always fun on the triple seven but after a few hours the thrill subsides good video thank you
Correction the newer ones hahaha sorry... anyways that's the far side of the international part of that terminal... the A320 you've riden from Japan is the youngest A320 of the airline as they moved forward into buying A321s
Yes!!! Finally thank you Simply Aviation. Hope you had a great time with the heart of the Filipino. You might also want to try the A330, A340 (soon to retire), ATR series, and the soon coming A350-900 / 1000
Thanks for reviewing PAL! Would love to see you if you come again in Manila! I was just wondering why not go direct to Hong Kong from Japan. Hehe. Guess that's what loving to fly gets you.
The engine startup on the GE90 is super loud, and I like that. On takeoff full power, it’s super quiet, which I don really like. I’ve been on a Philippine Airlines flight PR113/PR103 and it was amazing!
You are correct, but had there been a Trent 8115 version built for B777-300/ER, you would have the same issue as a Trent 500 start sitting next to the engine results in a big noise
Mabuhay David.
David, I hope next month you will make a Tripreport of Philippine Airline's new Airbus A350. They got orders already. Manila - New York JFK so it's sure you aboard the A350.
