You were misdiagnosed

If you had trisomy 13, you would not even be able to type. What actually happened was that the diagnosis your parents received when you were in utero was actually incorrect. These tests are actually not incredibly accurate - depending on what test was performed it only has an accuracy rate of 50-70 percent. So you do not have trisomy 13. You may not want to continue to announce that you “have trisomy 13” since this is inaccurate. Hope this helps.

Such a race for life, where the toughest and most resilient sperm beats all other sperm to the egg... wins life!! So how do poor kids end up with such abnormalities? It's so not fair. You'd think with such a successful sperm winning the race to the egg, that baby would be blessed with the winning sperm's genetics of supreme superiority. It just breaks things inside of me to think how some poor kids are born with defects. There's millions of sperm racing thru the uterine death zone to get to the egg... how does a sperm carrying defects beat out all the others who would provide normal genetic info? Life is boggling...

They said it’s the egg that has the defect 😢
