How sad that you are using your son's condition for clickbait video views. 👎. Channel blocked.

and just FYI to anyone else who thinks i'm clickbaiting. The opening line of this video is "trisomy 13 stole my son from me" i genuinely feel that way. It did steal him from me.. as i explained in the video. My dream of being a father to the son I imagined did die that day. There's nothing clickbait about it. Its the horrifying reality of being the parent of a trisomy child. You’re still a parent but.. a different kind of parent. Sorry if thats too much for you, but thats the reality.

I don’t think this was clickbaity at all. He meant it figuratively and I understand if you were confused initially, but if you look at the other videos you will know he is not doing this for click baits. I am just a viewer like you, so just expressing what I thought!

I understand completely, @samuelT13 and it’s sad that you have to explain this. None of us will truly understand what you go through day in and day out. Solidarity to you and please don’t feel bad due to this comment. I would really suggest you go through the video again Allison!

I do understand how Trisomy 13 stole the dream of having a Perfectly Happy non-disabled child…. But you are blessed to have your son all the same. No one is promised a perfectly healthy child…. Or any child… and the fact of the matter is, no one is perfect. He is so precious!

My daughter died when she was 33 after a very sudden and quick illness. As anyone who has ever lost a child will tell you, it is the worst thing that can happen to you. You are being forced to lose your child every day for years. Horrible. I’m very sorry for your family.

Im gonna guess the people complaining about your title don't have a child with trisomy. As a T13 momma I totally get it. Death is not the only thief. Grief and joy and gratitude can all exist in the same moment💙 Something I appreciate about your videos is they are REAL. The good and the bad. Be blessed!

im glad to hear you understand my perspective. All of my videos come straight from my heart... i truly feel that my son was stolen from me by this horrible condition. I think some people just cant handle that.. they dont understand the depth of the darkness that humans can experience, because (thankfully) they themselves have not yet had to experience that.

The title and screen shot was a bit click baity, I honestly was worried for a minute that your son had passed away :/ that didn't feel right to me.

ah sorry about that... that wasnt my intention at all. I was aware of that possibility when creating the thumbnail & title though, which is why I wrote "the day my DREAM died" in the thumbnail.. and also why I wrote the description as such: "This video is told from the perspective of a father of a Trisomy 13 child (patau syndrome) about losing the dream of being a father to a healthy boy." sorry about any perception of clickbait though.. i dont like to mislead people

👇 what she said down there. This has happened before and I freaked out thinking the worst. I can't be mad because the relief in seeing him now and knowing he's here and smiling that smile that holds a thousand suns....that outweighs the heart pounding fear and knot in my throat I couldn't swallow. He is such a big boy now! I can't believe how much he's changed yet his beautiful eyes and smiles haven't ❤. I was not notified of some videos I just saw in the playlist and I'm really upset 😫! I don't know why that happens but I'm definitely watching right now and leaving a comment as well as a 👍🏻. Like I'm doing here 😊. Please upload more often, if you're able to because these beautiful kiddos are growing up too fast and we don't get to see their little personalities in action. Lily...oh that gorgeous girl....she's such a beautiful child but even more beautiful is her love for and, you can see here, her protective covering over her beautiful brother. It's such a heart-happy moment. You're blessed to be given these 2 gifts and I'm blessed to be invited in and take a peek into your lives. Thank you for sharing. And stop titling these videos hinting at the worst! Lol.... my heart can't take it 😂.

You said you didn’t know until birth, did you consider genetic screening? I was told that one of my pregnancies had a risk factor for trisomy 18 and had further testing done and she was fine. But I don’t think I would of continued the pregnancy if she hadn’t been.
@SamuelT13
@SamuelT13 6 месяцев назад
we didnt consider it because we weren't aware of the risks. We did however do genetic screening on our next child (my daughter) who turned out to be totally healthy. we wouldnt have aborted anyway if our son was positive for trisomy. We'd have just held out hope that he was mosaic / mild or that the test was wrong.

@@SamuelT13 yeah sir, would u recommend ? Shes seen on ultrasound scan with bilateral cleft and palate, vsd on heart ,overlapping fingers .... 😢
@SamuelT13
@SamuelT13 2 месяца назад
@@hillsongbest3818 I can't really say that I recommend it or I dont recommend it. However, I can tell you that... if your child survives past the first few weeks/months.. you and your partner will need to give the child 24-hour care. Day and night, they will need your attention. The child will also likely need multiple surgeries to assist with their breathing/eating (cleft palate = problems eating and so needs feeding tube), as well as to fix problems with their heart (you've mentioned VSD - my son also had that - and had surgery to fix it). My situation is that my wife and I both work from home, so it is OK for us to give the child 24 hour care.. however, for some families this is extremely difficult. So i think you need to assess whether you and your partner are in a position where you will be able to give 24 hour care to this child.. basically the same care required for a BABY, but for many years. However, I would also recommend talking about all of this with your doctors. I can't give medical advice. I also just want to say that I'm actually doing a video right now about this topic - describing the life of a trisomy child. I will try to finish it soon for you. Take care and please ask any other questions you have

The fact the child has a condition that is normally incompatible with life and seeing he's still thriving does defeat the odds. May I ask, does he have full Trisomy 13 or the Mosaic form?

I've worked with patients with special needs, physically and mentally and I think you're talking about some kind of grief in your video. You're probably grieving what could have been (please don't take it as an insult if I'm wrong) and that's completely understandable. He's very sweet though and his smile is captivating. You obviously love your son very much and make him happy.

I sincerely hope and pray that you will find some of the joy you portrayed in your earlier video "the wonderful reality of trisomy 13", and that you are able to make new dreams for Elijah. Dreams of peace and love, where just "being" is enough, in a world gone mad with expectations. Dreams where God gave a piece of His heaven in this boy who will never do anything wrong. And that you are able to treasure every day that he is alive, in spite of and maybe even (a bit) because of how trisomy 13 formed him. Know that he is valued and loved clear across the ocean! 💙
