Two years ago I lost two friends of mine. One to suicide and the other in a school shooting. Watching this now, the interludes talking about forgetting some parts of them and wanting to see them again broke me because of how true it is and how much I miss them even when I don’t know it
One of our rescue dogs died literally less than 3 hours ago I found her 30 mins ago while feeding She sits with our goats along with her fellow 3 legged dog and guards the goats We have a massive storm hitting and it's cold and dour She was slowing down not eating her normal the past month and we started feeding broth and ground meat type food but she just was getting old Dug a grave and got inside literally seconds when this aired and I was checking my phone What fucking luck that I got a song to suit her Thanks tristam

Just gonna leave this here. Over The Edge is Tristam’s fifth and final single released from his debut album, WLUWD. It’s an electro-pop song that features lyrics about anxiousness and growing up. The lyrics throughout the song talks about aging as time goes on, and how the singer, Tristam, wants to stop worrying about the future and to live more in the present. The music video features the two brothers, and the older brother felt responsible for his younger brother since the father is absent in their lives. When the father confronted the younger one in a negative way and the older one didn’t confront him back, it causes the younger brother to run away from home in fear. The older brother daydreams about the potential memories they could have had with each other.

I haven’t felt such strong emotions invoked in me in so long. I have been struggling with some dangerous emotions and thoughts recently and this song reminded me that I have a brother who cares about and looks up to me. And for that I thank you Tristam. I am in tears. Chances are you will never see this message, but the principle is what matters to me. Keep up the good work. Edit: thanks to all of you in the replies offering support. It really does mean a lot. Tristams music has always been a safety net for me whenever I feel down, so it is awesome to have a song that I can personally relate too.

i just recently lost my very close friend at the protest in Myanmar. He was brave. He was kind. He was everything that I am not. Standing up to the military junta to take back what's ours... our democracy.... he gave his life for our country, Myanmar. I'll never forget his face when we ran together at the Pocari Sweat Run.... I'll never forget his hand when I was bullied back in school.... I wish i could give him a hug. I wish i could see him again.

I'm 21 now and I'm grateful everyday from the air in my lungs to the fact that I have such parents, family, friends, and the God of creation who love me dearly and encourage me to move forward in life even when its extremely hard. Seriously waking up everyday with beautiful creatures all round, each sunrise and sunset never the same, and even the pouring rain is just a reminder of all the good thats still hear but most dont notice it. The media is not content with people feeling joyful but just wants your time and for you to have endless sorrow. Don't take anything for granted and you'll be grateful.
Porter Robinson and Tristam have been releasing a bunch of new songs recently. And I feel like I'm just hanging out for the next episodes of a beloved show just to feel that rollercoaster of emotions. I don't know what's in store..... but I'm along for the ride.

My mum lost her battle to cancer in February, today's her birthday and I just wish she could see all I've achieved this year. This song is just perfect and has shone a light for me today ❤
I think tristam was one of the most defining artists of the 2012-2016 era of electronic music. Its really a shame that his album hasn't got its deserved attention. Extremely underrated imo

Lyrics really hit home in the fact that I always daydream about being a kid again. Growing up, especially in these times, isn't easy. Any time I hear the second verse, it serves as a reminder to always be grateful for what you have. In the interlude prior when the older brother says he wished that he could see his younger brother again after the latter ran away, the glimpse of him growing up shows that he did in fact get to, and yet with the years gone, it's like the love as siblings had been rekindled. And with the younger brother back in the older brother's life, I feel like that might be why the older brother said he knew that his younger brother wanted him to find joy again. I'm sure we can all agree on the idea that some of us were thrown into a world we didn't ask for. But here we are, still trudging along. It might not feel like it will get better, but it will. May take some time, but it will. Please continue on, for you and yours. You'll get there.
I'm studying veterinary medicine abroad...I haven't seen my family for the past 2 years now. I have a baby brother who was 4 when I last saw him. He'll turn 6 soon.

Years ago I had lost my own brother to a rare disease that made me drift away as I was younger. It made me feel as though it was my own fault for not being there for him even if there was nothing I could do. I miss him and wish he could come back but I'm just glad he was in my life at all. You really do have to treasure what you have now, or you may never have it again. The best message to push by an amazing artist with an amazing song and an even more amazing film.
I've been a fan for years now, I'm very happy Tristam is back, with Children in the Dark it was absolutely incredible But honestly, after the first 2 songs you released on your return, they've all sounded kinda, "not you", I guess. Don't get me wrong, I like them, I just feel like the recent releases are just generic in some ways, like songs you've heard before on the radio. Always gonna be here listening, no matter what direction you decide to take your music though.
I wrote about my take on the story in a discord, gonna copy paste it here too: The narrator, which is the older brother, already explains a bunch of things. The two brothers grow up in kind of their own world. The older one has a phase in which he wants to isolate himself from the younger one, its just one of those things among siblings, the part where you dislike each other from time to time or feel annoyed by the other. Yet they share the moments that they experience in life, like birthdays, the burning barn. Then theres this third person thats forcing the younger brother against a wall while the older brother is trying to escape the situation silently, most likely out of fear or the consequences from interrupting. I imagine that this third person is the father thats actually in the house with them for once even tho hes mostly absent, also they didnt have a mother when growing up. And from frustration and all the things that have happened, the younger brother runs away. A searching group is attempting to find him but I assume they fail. Then we see the older brother as an old man, sitting in front of what feels like a camera. And so I think whats happening there is..: its like either a video clip to go viral, or its for something like one of the TV shows where they search for family members that are missing. Thats how it would make sense that right after the old older brother says that he wishes he could see his younger brother again, the younger brother actually appears, but his appearance then changed from young to old in just a frame. Whatever the old older brother did there, was a call to attempt finding the young brother once again, and it succeeds. They meet up and share from their current life. Go celebrate with alcohol and in the diner at the end realize all the time theyve missed together. Like that jump from the young younger brother to the old younger brother. All that happened between that can never be experienced together again. And the old brother has realized that and even tho it makes him sad, he also learned to value that he still has time with him.
"He'd want me to find joy again". Sounds to me like they never found him when he's gone missing and the older brother is just imagining how it would be to have his younger brother again but in the end he realizes there's nothing he can do to really get him back.
@@blitzsturm7271 Thats also a posibility. But I can also imagine that the entire narrator thing is the one scene before he sees him again. It started before he was missing, then we got the main part in the middle and it might also end when he was still missing. Like in "Children in the Dark" and "Burn" theres also things that happen at the start of a video even tho these things actually happen at the end in the timeline.
I remember listening to Flight and Frame of Mind in like 2015, and wow I never realized how much things have changed since we all first heard about Tristam and the true beauty that he brings to his music
