I've had the T-100 for a couple of years. Great gun at a bargain price! A couple of things for anyone that maybe interested: 1) Sights are NOT compatible with CZ's so extremely limited options unless you DIY. 2) Cajun Gun Works has aftermarket spring kit and (and other parts) that really clean up the 20lb double action pull. I installed the spring kit and it made a world of difference, best $17 trigger job ever. 3) The Jericho941/Baby Eagle holsters in the semi-compact configuration work nicely.
Definitely exceptional for the price. I bought one and have spent some serious time with it and it is an excellent weapon. We fired multiple brands of FMJ and hollow points including Hornady Critical Defense and Federal HST and all have fed without exception. Extremely accurate, comfortable to shoot and a great trigger to boot. Fit and finish is top notch. Get one!
I own the Tristar Canik T-120 (the larger version of the T-100) and the P-120 (a clone of the CZ75 SP-01). I paid around $400 for each pistol and they’re both phenomenal and I’ve had zero malfunctions out of both even after feeding them ammo ranging from 115gr to 147gr, cheap to expensive rounds, target to defense rounds, along with subsonic to +P loads. They both ate everything with no hiccups. They both are a pleasure to shoot. The price to value ratio is through the roof with these. I definitely recommend buying one if you can still find them out there.
Excellent review of a canik55 built pistol imported by tristar. I recently purchased a c-100 chrome compact lightweight pistol which closely resembles your compact cz75. I remain impressed with the fit & finish of the pistol, and after 400+ rounds of Turkish NATO ammo it is completely reliable; no "break-in" was required! This "clone" may be better than the original--lol.
Just to add to a very good review. I have the Tristar C100 and T100, these guns are very well made and very reliable. Like most gun owners I have many handguns some that cost over a thousand dollars. The quality of these gun could they could charge a lot more. Get them while they're cheap.
Very good, very informative review. When I bought my first compact pistol, I was a little strapped for cash, so I couldn't get what I wanted. What I bought has served me well, but it doesn't have the fit finish and smoothness I want. At the time I bought my pistol, my brother bought a Canik Stngray compact, on my recommendation (THAT is what I wanted). I had recommended it, because years ago, I had a stainless (correction:it must have been chrome, but it was gooking chrome!) Tanfoglio TZ75. I loved that pistol, but fell on hard times, and sold it way too cheap. It is the *only* gun I have ever regretted selling. I am finally stepping up and in the next couple of months, I will be getting my TriStar T100! Thanks for a GREAT review!
Excellent review! I'm a big CZ fan as well and also own several pistols manufactured by Canik 55. The way you described in detail the features and the opinion of others after shooting the pistol are excellent. This is how a gun review should be done, by professionals!
These guns are so expensive in Turkey, but cheaper in USA. For example Canik TP9SF is $1060 in Turkey, but in USA, it is $350. I have TPSF and I love it. I love these CZ design too and I will see if I find one around me NC

I'm an "Old Timer". When I first began shooting handguns, most fella's used Revolvers. Only about 15 or 20 % had, shot "Semi-autos". And the CZ75 was impossible to get here! So when I decided to get back into shooting, my first purchase was the Ruger SR1911, followed quickly by a CZ75B!!! Love shooting both!!
Happy to report I bought an all black model. Super excited about it. I've been buying CZ for years and this is every bit as good. 97b, compact and PCR are all owned. Thanks again for the heads up.
It's March 2024. This Tristar cz75 clone and the arex rex zero 1 are 2 of the most underrated 9mm handguns on the market. If you like the glock 19 this T100 has your name on it.
I bought the black C100 last week, it's the clone of the 75 compact like you show here. I couldn't be more impressed with the value you get in this pistol. My problem now is not having the funds to get one of each model.
wowfreak195 I actually own the same gun Spike used, only mine is Nickel finish. Many years ago when I turned 21 I bought the IMI Jericho 941 (IWI isn’t what he used; it was before Magnum Research started importing them as the IWI) as my first gun because Cowboy Bebop was a favorite of mine growing up. It has the safety/decocker on the top, and shoots amazingly tight groupings even at 25 yards. Superb gun if you can find the original like I was able to (got very lucky).
I have had one of these in the black finish for several months now and feel it's one of the best deals on the market for a mid-sized 9mm... super smooth action very accurate and reliable.. 349.00 at Academy Sports.... Same size as Glock 19.
Thanks for the review Sootch. My first semi-auto was a S&W 39-2 and the controls on the T-100 look to function about the same. I got the chance to shoot a CZ 75 at the range not too long ago and if the Canik T-100 shoots as well then its a real bargain. I was really impressed how well it can be controlled and follow up shots are very quick without struggle. I just checked the "Roster of approved Handguns" and Canik handguns are not on the approved list. CZ's are approved or at least some models. This is what we go through when thinking about buying a handgun. It has to be on the Politburo's approved list or you can't own it. When you say "long live the Republic and be of good courage" it has special meaning to gun owners in this state. Keep vigilant as it can happen to any state with too many liberals.
I'd love to get a CZ but I'm not wild about the DA/SA action without a decocker. I just don't feel lowering the hammer is safe enough to avoid a ND. Otherwise, I would love this pistol. Thanks for the video.
Okay I bought the C100 & the T100 & am very happy with both of them.Hey ,I could have bought 1 CZ Compact.I have 7 CZ & mine are all metal.Grip panals mag.s & springs all fit great.The best value in self defense guns.One advantage of the Canik is the metal guide rod & CZS are polymer & yet I love my CZS except for the extreme trigger curve. My favorite is the single-action CZ 75 & with VZ grips just like yours.You have good taste.
That is exactly what I've been looking for! Why czusa didn't mass import the compact L I'll never know. I wanted a full length dust cover, compact, alloy frame and manual safety. Will be buying this pistol soon! Thanks Sootch.

I've seen this pistol on the Canik Fanatik forums with some very sweet grips that really make the titanium cosmetics pop. Looks like I've got another pistol to buy now! Great review as always! Really excellent review! I have a canik c-100 in brushed chrome and with the exception of the dust cover and rear observations it is the same pistol. Yeap, my manual says barrel length 3.9" but I measured mine also-3.7". 600 rounds thru mine without a bobble. Mostly ZQI NATO ammo made in Turkey @1214 fps. Completely satisfied! I'm old school and dislike polymer, decockers, and strikers!!
Nobody makes loading a magazine as dramatic as Sootch00. Great video as always. The Tristars, Sars, and Caniks all appear to have great value. Lot of "bang for the buck."
I went into Academy last week looking for a Jericho (which they don't carry) and the sale clerk directed me toward the T-100. I didn't know anything about it and didn't buy one. After looking online, reading some reviews and watching your video, I'm sold! Do you have a favorite ammunition you've put through the T-100?
I have the Shark-C...same gun made in the same factory. Seen it on CTD for 319.00 one day and for that price figured I couldnt lose (already had the canik tp-9 and loved it). Honestly, at first i didnt like it. but the more I shoot it.....im changing my tune. Great review Sootch!
I want one of these. Great value, great CZ design, great performance. Next year either this one, or a VP9, but I would love to have this for the value backup that this would be ideal for.
@@RJ-oi3ck Actually the IMI Jericho, aka baby eagle, is a clone of a clone of the CZ, the model in the middle being the Tanfoglio (eaa witness in the USA)
@@RJ-oi3ck I disagree. The Jericho 941 is an improvement on the cz model. Plus that don't look all that similar. The t-100 on the other hand is a copy of the Jericho 941. Also the baby eagle Verizon of the Jericho is a downgraded version in my opinion
Those clones are cool, it's just too bad none of them make a decocker model (at least that I'm aware of). I wonder if the clones can take VZ grips. It's definitely nice that they take CZ mags!
I noticed on my T100 that you can put the hammer I the "half cocked" position, which is a little easier to put the pistol in then completely uncocking the hammer.
I have my eye on the Stingray version, its all metal construction To. I owned the TP9 and was impressed with its quality. Nice Video Sooth00. Looks like les than 1"muzzle flip.
I have the baby eagle, and as soon as you started shooting i said, that looks just like the baby eagle....then you said it! also Canik has what seems to be quite a few really nice pistols out there. great video sir!
Seems like a great option for the price. Personally, I would spend the difference for the real thing (I've seen new CZ-75Bs as low as $550 locally), but my reason to buy a CZ would be for the history. Still, the Canik seems like a tremendous value.
Heh, Black Desert Sand, Frag pattern. I have those on my Canik Stingray-C, same titanium finish as well. I did notice the MecGar CZ-75 Compact mags fit as well, but the base plate sticks out. I didn't try the Promag variants though.
I have the C100, which is the same, minus the full shroud. I love it. You do not mention the half cock position, which is how I carry mine. My hands are just small enough that any double stack 9 makes it hard for me to reach a double action trigger. My Baretta 92 F was worse in that regard I will say though. But in half cock I can reach the trigger much better for the first pull. And the safety works in half cock also. Great gun, worth twice what they go for in my opinion. Also want to mention, for spare mags, order Mec Gar only. The CZ 75 Mec Gar mags work, but the CZ-usa mags do not. I found out the hard way. A slight difference makes them not seat in the Tristar.
Thanks Sootch, I'm now proud owner of a black T100 & agree with you it's a lot of quality for the price. Tristar website shows only a black #85109 available, did they discontinue the titanium as shown in video? I sanded & polished the protruding end of the take down rod to smooth the sharp edge and left it natural. Next I'm adding CZ75 wood grips & flat bottom mag. OEM mag plastic base plate has sharp corners on back that can feel uncomfortable on palm. Thanks for your informative firearm reviews.
i like everything about it as a pistol, having a 75B and a P07 i like my CZ's. i even like the jericho nose. however i wouldn't give any money to the country that makes this.
You have to hand it to CZ they really do make some exceptional well priced guns. Here in the UK the CZ 455 .22lr bolt really doesn't have much in the way on competition for it's price point. Not overly pretty but it works well with lots of aftermarket options too.
I find it confusing that you say it has a "crisp" trigger pull yet when you were pulling the trigger there seemed to be a ton of creep after you hit the wall. To me, that doesn't seem crisp but mush.
I have both the tristar and the cz. The tristar trigger break is very crisp but the trigger travel feels like a staple gun. It's an awesome gun but I prefer the trigger on my worn in cz, it's smoother in the pull. I'm sure the tristar will get that way with more use.
I should have known you have one of these in your collection, too. Seems like every time I turn around, whether it is a specific 22tcm, a PSA 5.7, this underappreciated piece, or some other unknown gem I decide to pull out of the safe, clean, and research a little more of, you are on the top of the list. You don't happen to have a super cheap Astra A90 variant, too, do you?

Excellent review as always. I have the T-120. There is a 1/2 cock. Unsure if it can be carried in half cock with a round in the chamber but the safety does engage. From the 1/2 cock the reach to the trigger is more comfortable and the pull is about 8 lbs (just a guess but much less). Thanks.
CZ's R amazing had use of a scorpion as a GI in 60's was amazing also the XZ pistols were highly favored live long nuff getting near closing time but anyway git nother one 2 pass onto oldst g/son who is a great gun & knife fan ;) Awesome review TY ATB 2018 also
I am also a CZ fan... I like their entire lineup of pistols. I am not at all above buying a good clone gun if the overall situation says that is the better value. I just checked pricing of the Tristar and the EEA CZ clones... and to be honest they simply are not much cheaper. I will stick with the CZ brand because I do believe they will hold value better... and there are more accessories and parts etc. Somebody tell me a reason to buy a knock off gun like this if the price is only about $50 less because I think that makes no sense at all.
YOU DONT NEED THE WITNESS MARKS for takedown -- like w/ most CZs you can just put it on half-cock and that makes/sets the right position for slide retraction and pin rls
