EXCELLENT VIDEO!! No how'ya doing You Tube BS or including a story. Video and narrative rapidly get right into the meat of the issue without all the usual baloney. Outstanding video and well appreciated.
Thanks for that sir. One thing you forgot to mention is the O ring inside the gas port chamber which needs lubrication or you'll get blow by on the piston which will cause shells to not eject. 2c.
Ok , I just bought a Mossberg SA-20 Tactical and did a search here on you tube for disassembly videos and this was the first one it gave me . I'm not sure if the Viper is a Tristar version of my SA-20 ( my Mossberg was actually made in Turkey by another company so who knows ) or just that all semi-autos are that similar but I spent a good long time today figuring this stuff out for myself today . I'm putting this video on my favorites and DEFINATELY liking it . Great video , very well done , clearly spoken and well presented .
good detailed video, this is about how far i would strip a gun down, I'm not very technical minded, when i take anything apart i can never put things together again.. thanks for posting, a really nice rifle at a good price.. Bill
Great video I own a TriStar raptor and was wondering if this the same way you would take it down to be cleaned any advice would help since this is my first shotgun thanks
Just bought one today. It seem a little tuff to get the barrel off. I don't want to break the charging handle off by being to ruff with it am I doing something wrong?
Need your help please~ We were having problems with not being able to pull the slide back and a shell being stuck inside. We took it apart and when we got to the trigger assembly ours did not look like yours because the hook latch not sure what you would call it was stuck in the upright position unlike yours which was down in the assembly. The spring seems to be fine and not loose but we can not get it to stay in the down position. I took a picture but not sure if I can get it uploaded on here. Would you have any idea what the problem is and why it will not stay down and/or why the shells are becoming lodged inside and not able to eject them? Thank you in advance.
Thanks. I have a Raptor ATAC Turkey (Camo). The manual is crappy and doesnt really explain how to pull the charging handle out. You did that for them. Thanks again.
Im glad someone has posted a breakdown video of the Tristar viper g2, i have one myself but instead of the synthetic i have the wood, with black receiver, 26in barrel. I got it last summer and i have been using it for skeet shooting. I have been trying to find any other parts or accessories for this gun like choke tubes, improved sights or even different barrels but i have had no luck, any suggestions on your part?
Thank you so much for making this video. The instructions in the manual are pretty awful. They just say "take it out," but don't describe how. I am not one that likes to force things, I tend to break them that way. These shotguns are great, but Tristar really needs to re-do their manuals.
Instead of the screwdriver/punch to remove the trigger pin, cut a wood skewer 4 inches long and cut enough of the pointed tip to fit in the pin hole to drive/remove the pin. This way you don't mark the gun or pin.
@cheesegunshoot Mine came with different chokes, haven't seen anything of an aftermarket for them though. Generic shotgun sights will work, depending on the mounting method, so you could add a ghost ring or fiber optics to your vent rib.
My only suggestion is to improve the lighting. Other than that straight to the point with no blather or awful blaring music which is all too common on RU-vid. Nicely done!
