You got that right - They are far from black boxes and perform as I would expect. They arrive tomorrow can't wait to get them all setup.

Looking forward to hearing updates on these. They really look slick too. If they can produce good PAR numbers and spread then that's awesome. Then you just need to test how long they will last and what customer service is like. Keep me updated.

Still running them actually on the V3 now. Should be fine on the smaller tank just par and adjust accordingly.

@@TRSCAquatics thank you for the reply I was just worried that setting was too strong 4 soft corals. I have six of them hanging over a 72 in 125 gallon aquarium 6 inches from the water

The noops have 90 degree optics. Not horrible But not the best for shallow tanks. This is why I keep them high up for spread and to equalize the par. 6 over a 72 is no doubt great coverage but be wary of your par. Honestly success with leds for me came when I purchased a inexpensive par meter from seneye. I use it often setting up my tanks, client tanks for friends. I don’t trust my cross eyed self to gauge the intensity but it def helps with my placement. Depending on my location in my sand-bed I can get 170 par or 75. So I bust it out when I need to place corals. When I place sps i shoot for a optimal range in the location and usually test the location before placements. If I place it in 250 par and I loose color or it pales out I move it to 150 par for a week or 2. If it’s in 150 but starts to become a uniform color instead of displaying the stress or gradient coloration of higher par I move it to higher par. I’d suggest you gift yourself a par Meter to help with your levels par/pur and spectrum to make sure your lighting mimics a nice air blue +

You can control up to 16 k7's with one controller, plus a hybrid fixture at the same time

Theres a learning curve to the controller but its very intuitive once you understand it.

Can these be programmed with an APEX or the soon to be released Control 4?

The five light is a Amazon Waterproof Cobb Cree 100w grow light. Replace the steel hardware with aluminum or remove it or spray it with rust oleum rust prevention and it’s a super solid light for 30 bucks. I have them in use in over 20 builds and customer tanks. Kessils might be prettier but these just work.
