Hello there, a good modification is to machine in the O ring groove on the tappet guide blocks as per later models, i think they came in around 1967 and it stops oil seepage between the guide block and barrel. It is a good mod. Also if you need a parts book for any Triumph BSA or Norton, they are all available to look at online at British only tech library. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
Very educational video. Thank you. Did you use the hylomar blue on the gasket under the cylinder jugs as well? At some point this winter I need to replace the pushrod seals on an oil in frame Bonneville I just picked up. I haven't done that before and I have a feeling the first time I do it they're gonna leak... then I'll have to do it again. That seems to be my MO, it takes me a couple times to get it right. I just don't have a feel for how much squish or pressure should be on those push rod seals. I'm going to order the franz and grubb top end gasket set.

Quick question, I have 1970 Norton Commando. when splitting the engine case I found there is no interfierence fit of the main bearings to the bores. Only slightly. maybe one thou, Bores still round. Is a lock tight bearing fit product possible. Thank for sharing with us your knowledge
yes, there are a lot of steps i cut out on video just for time but i need to start mentioning that thing are done before i film or just get cut out. videos would be 3 hours long if i left everything in haha
