Triumph Bobber stock VS BC dragpipe exhaust comparison 

It’s got the x pipe mid muffler/cat delete is why it sounded so good. Personally I think stock mufflers with the x pipe is one of the best sounding combos. Not to loud but a nice rumble

I believe it is in the farthest position, thats how the dealer set it up and I liked it there

I noticed the biggest difference by removing the cat, more responsive. Not much difference when I changed the pipes after changing the cat .

Did you have to get the ECU re-tuned/flashed for the cat-delete? I figure it would run leaner..

no...it actually is able to adjust it's mapping on it's own.....runs fantastic!

NEPA Rockers haha! No, I ride an old shovel, and an older TR6R. But I did just pick up an ‘06 Speedmaster, which drove me to your site. First thing I saw was you starting it w/ the kickstand up. I’m picking up the Speedmaster tomorrow. I read that it won’t start w/o the kickstand down. Easy enough to jumper out, though. Dude, meant no disrespect! I’m familiar w/ BC parts. But how about straights? My bike is naturally aspired, running Keihin carbs - can I jet it to straights?

yes...with the correct jets you can run straights...used to have an 03 America with straights and I rejetted it

DEeMON I agree. I like a deep, rumbling sound, but I don't need or like obnoxiously loud pipes. To me, loud pipes sound like a little kid going, vroom, vroom! Nothing worse than enjoying a nice summer night and some clown ripping by with straight pipes. I can see if you're racing and you need the performance of open exhaust, but street bikes don't need to be heard three miles away. Just my opinion.

@rockn roll Having straight pipes, a smaller diameter helps keep the exhaust gases flowing faster. Tho a large pipe may sound better, it wont perform better

One thing I noticed about the custom exhaust is that it screams 'manipulated.' In my part of the world, that's not appreciated by everyone.

it sounded great, but when youre driving then all of a sudden hear it blasting from the same stoplight you are, it wont be musical.

unless you hear them in person you cant really judge them

Vance and Hines make great aftermarket pipes for Triumph. My dad has them for his Triumph Thruxton R and they sound gorgeous, it's a similar sound to the stock pipes however it's louder and has more bass.

i still got stock on my bobber also,, i did see a vid of an exhaust on bobber in thailand that sounded really good. it didnt state who exhaust is from or how they set it up.

was out for a 100 mile ride.....didn't bother me at all

Why do people continue to buy into the "Loud popes save lives! They'll hear me coming!" bullshit. No driver of a car or truck can hear a motorcycle until it's so close that no action can be taken to influence anything, or the driver only hears a bike as it passes by. They DO NOT hear you coming. Anyone that believes that loud motorcycle pipes have any bearing on whether or not a motorcyclist will or will not be struck by a car or truck, does not understand how acoustics are perceived by the human ear. Loud pipes saves lives is,nothing but an Urban Legend that has no basis in reality.

A deaf motorist WILL NOT hear you. No matter how loud your pipes are.

All these know-it-alls obiously ride some where in the mid-west or in the middle of bum-fuck no where. I can tell you from almost 20 years of splitting lanes in San Francisco Bay Area traffic - loud pipes absolutely DO save lives - motorists DO here you coming.

when the stock cat is still there..there are more body to the sound, a few less db and much less tinny
