Mine just arrived this afternoon. Looking forward to the installment. Appreciate the video. I agree in that in that this is a very decent piece of kit to add to your T120!
That is a very well made cover Stuart and you presented it very well. The way l look at Motone is we are just lucky to still have a few companies left who don't take shortcuts on their manufacturing!
Thanks Terry and yes I was a bit gobsmacked when I saw the way its been put together. a standard of manufacture you dont see often these days! as always! thank you for watching!
One of my joys of Wednesday and Friday mornings is opening up my computer to see what surprises you have for us. This is another, and I'm glad I did not bite for the R&G. As you said, understated classic. A winner.
Hi Stuart, Great video. Can I just say how fantastic you’re channel is. Your open and honest reviews are refreshing in the you tube world as well as being highly educational and informative. I passed my test last year and I’m just having 12 months on an old CBF whilst I decide which bike suits my needs and I’m pleased to say I think the T120 is the one for me. I love that it’s a proper bike and the almost unlimited customisation you can do. Just need to decided how and when now, but in the meantime I’m just loving your channel, you should be proud of it. Martyn
Much prefer this one Stuart. I know it's all in the eye of the beholder, and all that, but personally the understated, subtle approach is far better. You can't fault the engineering of the fittings either. First rate. This is the one I'd go for. Thanks for the video.
As always Stuart another handsomely crafted accessory from Motone. Thankyou sir for sharing a great video. (By the way GT85 back in stock in Morrisons at £4 a can).
When I watch your channel I find your voice is very calming and clear, the "John Arlott of RU-vid" as he was to cricket! Being a southerner is that a Yorkshire accent? (North of Watford is "somewhere up north to most southerners") I do enjoy your reviews on the T120! Thank you.
That's a very good-looking piece, wouldn't mind having something like that but my Bonnie is an a/c model. A smaller one for the oil cooler would be nice, would go well with the Union Jack air injector plugs and clutch lifter cover.
Hi Stuart, Thanks again (and again) for your videos! I purchased this radiator guard to mount on my T120 but I've encountered a small issue. The two original black screws are too short to be reused once the guard is in place. Motone provides two replacement screws that are longer for that purpose; however they are in shiny stainless steel. Really not nice at all. Your video seems to indicate that you reused the original screws which is puzzling me. Could you please explain? Thanks!!
Hi Stuart hope you can help me with a question. It’s to do with the locking petrol cap on my street twin, well a rubber disc has come out from under the swivel top that covers the key lock. Is that of a concern? I think you’re the best person to ask as I value your opinion.
Hi Phil, sorry to hear about that, was it an O ring? it might just be some sort of packing that the dealer or factory hasn't removed, so may not be cause for concern. either way I would bring it to the attention of your dealer and let them deal with it if there is an issue.
stuart fillingham thanks that makes a lot of sense it’s a rubber disc about 20mm diameter. Booked in for 1st service on the 30th I’ll ask then, unfortunately some times dealer will tell you....... put it this way I trust you more. Thanks mate 👍
Stuart, I realize that you installed the Motone Union Jack radiator guard on a T120, but I have a question regarding using this part on a Bobber. I'm willing to bet that you'll have the answer to my question. So, I ordered this part from Motone and installed it on my Bobber Black. However, I ran into a few snags. First off, I notice the Motone guard was not as wide as the stock one. Maybe by 1/2 inch on each side. So, this made me think that the installation was meant to be an an "add-on" to the stock instead of a replacement. However, it quickly became evident that this was not the case as soon as I just overlaid one over the over. So, I've installed it as a replacement to the stock, but the fact that it's not nearly as wide as the radiator itself keeps making me thinking that something is off. Could it be that there is a different Motone Union Jack radiator guard specific for the Bobber? You obviously don't list the Bobber on the title of this video, but Bobber was listed in the description of the item. Another way to ask this question would be, is the radiator on the Bobber wider, by roughly 1", than the one on the T120?
Just fitted one of these to my bobber, I had to drill the mounting holes to line up the bolts and the guard looks about 1inch too narrow for the bobbers radiator . Has anyone else fitted one to a bobber ?
stuart fillingham that's ok the description on motones site does state it's for ALL liquid cooled twins and bobber is listed as one of them . Fitted now and looking great thanks again for the vid.
