My grandpa had an old Jawa 350 with a homemade sidecar and it was such a treat for me as a kid! I still remember it 30 years later! I think I was around the same age as your son because I could fit in the sidecar with my little brother next to me. Sidecar was absolutely insane. My grandfather made it from a spare tank of a WWII fighter plane P-51 Mustang . That drop-shaped tank, carried under the wings or belly and dropped in the event of a dogfight. That's what I call aerodynamic shape. Too bad he sold it later before I grown up. Anyway, this experience is why I'm currently looking for a sidecar. So that my child gets the same unforgettable experience. Your build is damn nice and I absolutely love it. Good job guys!
Thank you for sharing such a heartwarming memory! It's incredible how experiences like riding in a homemade sidecar can leave a lasting impression. Your grandfather's ingenuity in repurposing the WWII fighter plane tank for the sidecar is truly remarkable. It's fantastic that you're looking to recreate that special experience for your child. Wishing you all the best in finding the perfect sidecar setup! And thank you for your kind words about our build - we're thrilled that you love it!
@@TwinThingCustomMotorcycles There is something truly unique about riding in a sidecar. A roaring engine so close you can touch it, a riding position so low (and even lower from a child's point of view) that everything feels so much faster, plus exhilarating cornering dynamics. Simply wow! Grandpa's Jawa 350 was a two-stroke with kick-start only, so starting was always a long ceremony and the engine was extremely noisy. Me and my bro sitting in the sidecar full of excitement waiting for the mighty roar to come :) I'll never forget it till the day I die! Be absolutely sure that you are giving your son a lifelong memory. For my build I am considering a Royal Enfield interceptor 650 plus some older Ural or Dnepr sidecar. Triumph or Norton would be more suitable, but unfortunately it is very expensive in my country (Czech Republic). Enfields are still nice classic bikes with British roots and very reasonably priced. So we'll see how it turns out in the end. Cheers lads!
@martaskali925 That really does sound like an incredible memory with your Grandpa's Jawa 350! Riding in a sidecar truly offers a unique experience, especially with the sights, sounds, and sensations it brings. Your plan to create similar memories with a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and an older Ural or Dnepr sidecar sounds fantastic. I'm pritty sure that's what is on my sidecar and it's been great. Despite the challenges of finding Triumph or Norton bikes in your country, I think the Enfield's British heritage and affordability make it a great choice. Wishing you the best in crafting more unforgettable adventures with your build. All the best bud. 👍
Another beautiful build. Enjoyed the whole process, but, my favorite part was seeing the excitement of your son. A beautiful moment he'll cherish for years and years to come! 🌹 Blessings from Georgia, USA 🙏🇺🇸 🪶🪶🪶👆
Brilliant job lads! This is my next step. I’m going to fit a sidecar to the Harley. In my sixties a dodgy back so a sidecar will let me carry on riding. Really enjoyed your videos. Keep it up.😊
Awdome build Guys. I have a 1980’s Dnepr with the same sidecar that I’ll put back together at some point. And I just moved down the road from you in Cowplain so maybe I can come for a visit at some point :)
@@TwinThingCustomMotorcycles That’s great! Will stop by when ai get a day off work. Sometimes I enjoy seeing a workshop more that the bikes themselves 😁 Thanks! Vlad
Funny - my lad has just turned 5 and would love a sidecar - he keeps asking for a rocket on the side of the bike - on the side of my triumph brat. Hmmmm. Loving this!
@@TwinThingCustomMotorcycles well ~ thanks for your reply , I've heard some people says if you don't install a brake for the sidecar wheel , your bike will slide to the other side when you in a emergency braking situation , I have a sidecar bike too , but I got a brake on the sidecar wheel , I don't have a chance to prove it .
