A Thruxton motorcycle race viewed from a handlebar camera. The first 90 seconds were left unedited to show the calm before the storm. #triumph#thruxton#motorcycle#race#motorcycleracing
I just bought a Truxton because of the heritage and sweet café look. My first ride on it made me realize there was more to this than just heritage. This is a real racer. Sure its not a CBR but coming from a Harley Softail this is fast for me. I love it and this video just seals the deal. I'm so happy I got this bike. Ton Up!
That was an AHRMA Thruxton cup race at VIR circa 2009. Camera on board #135 Fred Wilink. 593 Dustin Foretich, 81X Wick Wilkerson, 55X Walt Bolton, 858 Charlie Steinman and me 826 Jonah Wassermann who disappeared off into the distance on lap one for the win 😀. Good old days!
i'm new to riding, and I'm not sure how often that actually happens, but I almost shat bricks when you rode up onto the grass at around 6:10. I wanna do this one day, though. where is this track?? i live up in NoVA
@TheEscape2012 "AHRMA also has released the technical requirements for machines participating in the Thruxton Cup Challenge. To keep the series competitive and affordable, as well as to preserve the unique cafe-racer look of the Thruxton 900, few modifications will be allowed. Fenders, bodywork and wheels must remain standard, and treaded tires are required. The only modification allowed to the engine is multi-angle or radius valve jobs, but the exhaust system and jetting may be changed."
My favorite sound is whatever part of the bike that was touching down on the deck on that one left hander .... ~skeeet skeeet~ .... the bike was leaned about as far over as possible. Really cool video.
Very nice bikes. What's the power/weight you can get in race trim? Love my Daytona but this would also be a very interesting project, and maybe a tad cheaper to boot.
