The Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro is a truly impressive machine. I had the opportunity to do a Tiger 900 Rally Pro test ride a few years ago and really enjoyed it, but I've learned a lot about off road motorcycle riding on adventure bikes since then, so when I had the chance to get out and do an off road test ride on the Tiger 900 Rally Pro in the desert at this year's Get on ADV Fest in the Mojave Desert, I jumped at the opportunity.
Taking the Tiger 900 Rally Pro off road is a dream come true. It's remarkably stable and easy to ride and handles much lighter in the dirt and deep sand than the weight on paper suggests it would. I very much enjoyed this test ride and my initial Tiger 900 Rally Pro review is incredibly positive. I would absolutely consider picking one of these amazing Triumph adventure motorcycles up for myself.
On the street, the Tiger 900 is equally impressive. It's comfortable and stable even at very high speeds and is truly an ADV bike I would consider taking from one end of the continent to the other.

I spent 3 yrs researching ADV bikes and literally watched prob 250 videos or more at least, and ended up with this Tiger 900 Rally Pro bike. I love it so much it's crazy. GREAT bike!!

I've had my 900RP for a month now. It has just under 4000 miles on it. I love the bike but it's not perfect. The bad: The oil filler cap leaks a little. Enough to coat the frame behind it and to soil the bottom of my pant leg. The left fork seal weeps a bit. Just enough to see a runnel in the dust below the low mark left by the travel. The slightly disappointing: The heated grips are nice but the high setting could be a little warmer. I bought the Triumph rear panniers and front upper crash bars (the V2 ones). The fit and finish on the bars is less than desired. The fog light mount on the front upper crash bars is a riv-nut. It is wobbly even with the bolt tight. The awesome: Everything else. The motor, the quick shifter, the heated seat, the quick shifter, the TCS and ABS, and did I mention the quick shifter?

@@DorkintheRoad The TC is, as you said, so intuitive in Off-Road mode that I didn't even realize it was intervening when it was slipping. It wasn't until I put it into Off-Road Pro that I realized just how gnarly it can get. ORP mode had me sliding it around, and the front brakes are so great that it slows down quickly, without locking up despite complete ABS defeat.

I just bought this bike and I love it. I gave up my BMW 750 GS for this bike and it was the best decision I made. There just is no comparison between the Tripple and the BMW two cylinder. What's so funny, you said it feels like an extension of yourself and that the bike kinda knows what you want to do. I totally compared my experience with this bike when I first rode it to the Avitar movie where the Pandora people clip into the Great Leonopteryx. So here is a warning to shorter folks, I am 5'7" and I could not touch both my toes until I adjusted the SAG. I still am one footing it, but can at least turn my head when I stop without losing my balance. If you are my height or shorter and dont ride like Jocelyn Snow, your going to probably have to lower the bike if you don't want to deal with the heighth of the bike. I did order the spring lowering kit from Touratech-USA which takes about 4 weeks to arrive in the states and then another two for my dealer to get it. If you need that kit, you will see that it is "out of stock" they never keep this kit in stock, you must order it for Touratech to order it. Jeez, this was long but I wanted to share and I LOVE THIS BIKE!!!

Awesome bike other than a few design flaws that are a major draw backs to me if you ride off-road. I was at a rally this past weekend both leading and riding sweep. There’s a lot of sand in Michigan so a large majority of the riders from out of state were in over their heads. Figured I’d be more help picking up bikes than blasting through the trails. A few riders that have Triumphs ended up going over the bars and snapping the gooseneck that the TFT and windscreen mount to. I’m sure someone makes a reinforcement kit or different mount, but $1000 every time you go through the windshield doesn’t sound fun to me.

I’m on my 4th iteration of the Triumph 955i triple engine... They are as good a quality as BMW but don’t try and rape you with the price of parts. I’ve owned a 2001 Sprint ST 955i, 2003 Sprint RS 955i, 2004 Tiger 955i and 2011 Sprint GT 1050. All of them were extremely reliable, dependable, full of character and a blast to ride! The best motorcycles, I have ever owned. My current Sprint GT is my favorite. I will get a used Tiger 900 or 1200 Pro one day. Also, I believe the best fuel injection system of any bike, you get 50+ MPG, no matter how you ride it. It’s remarkable..

Man, I'm torn between the 900 pro rally and Tenere 700. I do 50/50, a lightly used (3 year old, 15K km ODO) is just as expensive as a Tenere here. Now, this bike has everything, but the Tenere has that offroad vibe and seems to be the better offroad bike. I own the 1200 Explorer from 2012 and I have test ridden a 2024 900 & 1200 Tiger and I prefered the 900 over the 1200. But how does this bike compare to the Tenere??

I'm in my 5th year of owning a Gen III (2018) Tiger 1200 XCa. The model just prior to the current Rally Explorer. I absolutely adore her, and still feel like I found an underappreciated gem of a bike. I am far from the most demanding of riders, but even so, she has needed literally no service for mechanical failure. None. The gas cap sticks occasionally, and she definitely throws a smidge, but ONLY a smidge, of extra warmth out the sides (the corollary to that being that she has never, and I mean NEVER, twitched her engine temperature more than, say, 5% above the halfway point, even at 114F in the Arizona desert on a full day of Interstate freeway riding at full freeway speeds - this girl stays COOL internally). I take her in once a year for scheduled upkeep. New tires when needed. That's it. I want the new model's much bigger gas tank so bad I can taste it, but I'm not letting go of this glass-smooth, seductive banshee-howling Definitely-NOT-the-"T-Plane-Cranking" engine until I have to. Now, obviously, shaftie vs. chain, displacement differential, and the model years mean we're talking about two different individual bikes, but as a BRAND, I have nothing but top marks for Triumph's reliability. Warms my heart to see you having such a great time on a newer Limey 9 like this. Thanks for another winner of a video.

I have a Triumph Bonneville 1200 and a BMW gs. Both are great bikes, but the Triumph is probably the nicest bike I've ever owned. I am thinking about getting the 900 GT Pro as I do more on road than off road riding - probably 80/20. I think the GT has the capability for light off roading and is really loaded and better on the road. I'm also 66 years old and 5'7" and the Rally Pro starts at 850-880cm vs 810-830cm (something like that) on the GT Pros. For me, the GT is perfect height, and it will do what you just did with ease.

I bought my 2022 Tiger 900 Rally Pro new in Aug 2021. I have a little over 16K miles on it at this point. I just completed a two-state 1,500 mile ride over a ten day period; including a 12-mile trip down an old service road in the mountains. I've done a total of six days of adventure bike classes on the bike, with the usual number of tip-overs, plus one or two of my own, with only slight cosmetic damage to the easily replaceable parts. I do recommend barkbusters and doubletake mirrors to replace the more delicate stock parts--with the barkbusters, and the stock engine guards (lowers only), none of my drops have ever touched the engine or the paint. At the 12K service, I did have to get the valves adjusted, which was not cheap, but the bike runs and rides as good as the day I took it home from the dealer. For some reason, this more modern triple engine has 6K service intervals, while my 2019 Bonneville Street Scrambler's intervals are 10K. As the video says, it's not an inexpensive bike, to either buy or maintain, but I am very happy with the performance, comfort, and reliability.

You guys out west have way more fun than us east guys😂. I'm a little jealous, to be honest. However, the wife and I plan on full-time RVing and staying out west. Well, not California😂. And of course one motorcycle(DR650) with be coming with us🍻. Wife doesn't ride, so the DR is perfect for me. But, the Tiger is awfully tempting.

California is great, if you don’t reside in the big cities. Many places to ride & site see. AZ has great place as well. RVing is very fun, find groups to help with different destinations.

I have owned my TRP 900 for 15,000 totally reliable Mi 50/50 riding in Colorado. It's funny how every RU-vidr reviews this bike absolutely loves it but no one owns one. In my opinion it gets zero respect and the pumpkins and t7 get way more respect than they deserve.

@@DorkintheRoad yeah I was pretty inexperienced and went a little too hard in the dirt one day. Dropped it pretty bad and it had an ugly dent on the tank but otherwise was still great. Unfortunately life-change meant I had to eliminate the payment, so somebody did a fly and Ride and bought it off of me.

I have been researching ADV bikes for a couple of months now, and went and rode the Himalayan today I kind of have my heart set on a KLR, and they had a used 22 triumph tiger rally pro there, and that bike absolutely blew my mind, it’s over twice as much as I want to spend on a bike but it was phenomenal, and has about 5K worth of extras on it, so thank you for your review I have a lot of thinking to do
