In this video I'm going to be doing a 2jz ge swap on a Triumph TR6. Im going to show how to get the motor ready and I'm going to be making motor and transmission mounts.
Real DIY! The original Triumph engine is minute by comparison, a V6, or even V8 would possibly have been a better fit. The oil filter is a problem stuck out there = why did they do that. And will the bonnet clear? That engine is so tall. Fun watching though. I fancy the power will completely overwhelm the chassis and rear diff. though. Good luck!
It’s a shame as it will rip the value out of the car that otherwise looks in really good condition. Hopefully the mod will be reversible if the customer decides to sell in the future..
@@philtucker1224 original parts are hard to find and expensive. Owner also wants a car he can drive to Vegas and back no problem. He doesn’t plan on selling it so 2jz is a good option for all he wants.
@@mysterygarageCA I I just had some rear end work going on my TR 250 I had the original pumpkin taken out and I had a real nice limited slip put in 4.01 and then the good parts CV joints weren’t cheap but with the urethane bushings and everything underneath with a five speed Toyota supra transmission aluminum case good to go. My motors bored 30over 10 to 1 compression headers electronic ignition aluminum radiator aluminum water pump ,aluminum engine plates 13 row oil cooler electric fan lowered springs front and rear sway bars drilled rotors Alphin rear drums at the rear it’s good for about 150 horse on the Dyno
@@markcook3570 car for sure needs work on the diff, you make it sound like parts are available everywhere, hopefully I’m able to find at least the seals cause it is leaking.
my advice is to never try doing this unless you know it will fit 100%...nightmares after mightmares and perhaps it might never get done. The original engine is very reliable...just upgrade to carbs and bosch fuel injection along with electronic ignition and it will never fail.....100% reliable.
Nothing fits on this. Everything you try to fit will 100% be a challenge. There is way about everything specially now days that you have everything online. Reason why I haven’t work on it is because I’m building my house and it’s taking a lot of time away from my projects not because I got stuck. But I will continue with the swap later this year.
