I feel it's worth pointing out something cool about the TIE Raptor that wasn't discussed here. There were actually two different models of them, a manned version and a droid version. The droid Raptors were slave rigged to their manned wingman and the two ships would fight as a pair, the droid mimicking the movements and actions of the human pilot. This had the effect of every Raptor pilot essentially flying two fighters in battle at once, doubling their already considerable firepower.

Not actually true. The False 181st had interceptors rigged up with Droid Bomb wingmen. The Raptors reached the dogfight after the F181st were already starting to lose. And were just normal starfighters.

I hope you will cover the Night Hammer from Legends at some point, the unique Executor Class variant Super Star Destroyer built by Sander Delvardus that had stealth black armor, expanded hangars and redundant automation that allowed it to operate with less than half the standard crew.

0:38 Which is weird because later sources said that Zsinj managed to do what no other warlord did and conquer Liana, home of Sienar Fleet Systems (Though Raith Sienar had already died or faked his death by that point.)

I don't care for the squat appearance of the Raptor, but it's an interesting basis for what could be a much better design.

It does seem pretty basic in its design, especially when there are so many other TIE variants that look much cooler. I would agree with you there!

The raptor is cute. Moe even to be a weeb. The Acguy of Star Wars. Muck like the Acguy it's a weapon of war and death, but incredibly cute.

This ship looks like it shouldn't work at all but somehow it does, it's a real shame ships like this and the Tie Clutch aren't cannon anymore.

At least the tie advanced x1, avenger, and defender has extended hulls to accommodate the shield generator and stuff... Where's this craft fitting all that stuff?

My problem with certain TIE designs which have additional features compared to the standart TIE is that they do not have visually the additional space to house those features. Mostly they just have the usuall cockpit ball with different wings attached to it.

Yeah TIEs are already deathtraps and something about taking away the big wing panels just makes it look like this thing would be even more dangerous, I don’t wanna zip around one of those big cinematic space battles in that tiny hamster ball at all, don’t envy Zsinj’s pilots one bit. lol

Do some Hypotheticals. For example, what is the relation of the TIE Striker, TIE Oppressor, & the Schimitar TIE? Are they similar to the Y-Wing in function? Does that mean the TIE Bomber & its variant are more on par with the B-Wing?

It feels like every old legends ship falls into the same bag of saying "Even though it looks less maneuverable and more flimsy it actually was more maneuverable than an interceptor, had shields, included a hyperdrive, and had more guns than a corellian corvette".

@@hyperspacedatabase the problem with legends is it most of the time it only morphs existing ideas into new twisted versions of there former selves and does very little of introducing entirely new concepts this is evident in cases like this and all other imperial vehicle and trooper variants it will strike a gold mine here and there with things like the tie defender and dark troopers

No match for the FA-XX & UNITED STATE SPACE FORCE. Salute when I say space force. 😬 Lol We got lasers, driod wing men , sub sonic speed , can leave atmosphere and re-enter. Pilots that jam to AC ⚡ DC.
