So FINALLY!! after nearly a year of living here in Folkestone with absolutely nothing Metal to do, we had a Metal Gig!!! and what a fucking gig!!
Trivium
Bleed from Within (No bassist)
Orbit Culture
& Wow they all smashed it!! I was blown away by the venue itself which is placed on the side of a cliff & 1 minute from my house.
I'm really hopeful that we get more Metal gigs in that venue as there's clearly a scene here, I just don't know how to go about making it bigger!. but yeah Acoustically it was spot on and one of my favourite Gigs this year!

You both where literally behind me when trivium played! Can see myself in your video. Absolutely amazing show 🤘🤘 perfect venue for it as well. I was fortunate enough to meet Scott from bleed from within after the show.

I went to this gig. I live in folkestone and couldn't believe my luck when I saw Trivium was gigging here. On the back of that, I looked up Bleed from within. Discovered that I fucking love them! Anyway, thanks for the vid of the night. I'm sure I can see my son in law in the mosh pit. My daughter is in there too!

Awesome!! It was a great lineup right!? I just wish we had more Live Gigs on down here! That's pretty much the first one since we moved here a year ago. Are we missing anything you'd recommend? 🤘🏻😎🍻

I freaking love BFW! That venue seemed really good for it. No security with big egos etc and looked really chill! I'd definitely go there if wasn't miles away! You may be 36, but least you're not 45! I'd maturity level is mid 20s so far so but the bodies 65! 😦

Billy and Ruby, been watching your videos for a little while now and have to admit I find it slightly bizarre that I do. Anyway thought I would finally comment (don't hate me) since I seen Orbit Culture in this one. Discovered them a month ot so ago, fucking awesome band! Must see them when they play Bristol! Thanks for stopping by!!! 🖤🤘🏻 & Yeah I hadn't heard of them before & very nearly missed the set all together through getting caught up at the bar talking shit! 😂 And damn they absolutely blew us all away! The recordings do not do them justice at all, they picked a perfect set list and it was such a moment. The whole sound, image & Stage presence just felt BIG ya know? We were planning on heading to Bristol to see a Motorhead tribute!! But our plan's fell through 😭 it's definitely on our list!!! 🤘🏻

Folkestone looks nice, never been to that part of Blighty. I believe many legendary artists have played that venue as I remember it from tour dates in the 80’s when bands did proper tours. Fair play to Trivium for coming down when most bands these days probably stop at London 🍻🇫🇮

That's the thing, most bands/promoters seem to think London is as south as the UK gets 😂 But I'm sure we'd be able to make some noise here with enough promotion!!

Just after the pandemic they seemed to play absolutely everything! We saw them at Bloodstock & the Download Pilot & they were absolutely fantastic. The energy & stage presence at that time especially was exactly what we needed! Since then we've caught them a few more times too! 🤘🏻😎🍻

The Leas used to have alot more heavier bands playing in the 00's (i was at most of them 😂) i also hope they get more heavy gigs. Theres alot of us Metal heads in Folkestone 🥰

There's that new bar opening up here called Blackmarket soon. I'm really hoping that'll be something we can do on the regular. But yeah seems to be a scene, just need the gigs!! 😂

@billymayhem we used to have a great little place called the Harp club that had local bands on every weekend. Sadly closed a couple of years ago. Only thing reasonably local now is The Booking Hall but that's in Dover

Believe me mate it's an eye opener coming from London! There's some absolutely fantastic places in Kent & this is literally 2 minutes walk from my front door now I've left London. - Just need to bring our friends down here too hahaha 🤘🏻😎🍻

You see why I'm always smiling now right?? 😂 I'm literally living proof that if you ride it out things can get better!!! And not a day goes by when I don't appreciate how lucky I am now! I was in half minds to delete the Cruise videos completely, but it was a fantastic 1 off for my family. And although I'll never watch them back, The videos themselves still help people make up their mind about going on a cruise. & They were the set that got my channel monetized. I was so proud of making them at the time because it was so different to what I was used to. I'm toying with booking another cruise to Norway, but yeah it's a tough one.
