In the second verse you can really hear the raspy Hetflield/Robb Flynn style of singing tearing his vocal cords apart. God when it's on point it sounds amazing but I understand he had to change it
You could totally notice it through out the years when he started improvising the vocals on a lot of the songs. Now his new vocals are on point and he doesn't struggle when doing it live.
So much energy!!!! Man... Paolo running from left to right, Corey's screaming, Matt's super powerful voice, Travis is able to play his parts... AMAZING! Not the best sound though but this is pure gold
his screams on the sin and the sentence and what the dead man say are hella on point though, his live technique is also pretty sick when you're there. It sounds a bit weird when it is more isolated on his personal live streams though
@@winterbear8633 yeah that's fair, I have seen them live last year and I thought it sounded awesome, haven't seen old trivium live though so I can't compare in that way. His screams on the last 2 records are recorded with his old technique though. Just to make it sound the best as possible on the records
@@bliksemvis Was WTDMS done with the old scream? I thought he used the new one. I know he recorded TSATS with the old technique, but if you watch the WTDMS playthrough on Twitch that he reuploaded on RU-vid, he is using the new technique and it sounds somewhat close to what is heard on the record. I don't know for sure tho.

Man, you can really feel here that they will be the next Metallica (popularity wise) I cannot fathom why Metallica somewhat chose A7X over them. (Metallica bring A7X more on their tours than Trivium) TRIVIUM FOR LIFE! Sin | Dead | Dragon are all epic albums!
Do people not understand that Matt never had a vocals teacher and was thrown into being the vocalist. Stop comparing his younger years before he shot his voice out and got a vocalist teacher to Metallica. It's just disrespectful to a awesome band.
well this was the point where he's still hasn't fully transitioned from away his Hetfield phase, so doing screams plus having a really raspy singing style isn't really sustainable when put together
This was painful to watch. Guitar sounds shrill and Matt is struggling big time. They've got it nailed now though. I remember after Ascendancy when Matt changed his voice. He took a long time to find his feet again. But kudos to him, he totally bounced back.
I agree that it didn't sound the best here, but i think the crusade and shogun songs do not fit with them anymore, Matt sangs with a very plain voice and lacks agression. The old vocals were not sustainable, but it was big part of what made Shogun great.
This is pre amp modelling software, so each gig is going to be reliant on the sound guy capturing the amp sound properly, which isn't always successful
@@Metalheim-f6d You can hear Heafy is struggling, not hitting the right notes and not finishing the lines properly. Peak live Trivium is 2011 in my opinion.
