Alright. I'm joining EVERYONE'S Patreon so I get to be in the fan jam videos. I promise to only suck a little and I promise to keep practicing until I only suck occasionally, and if I get *there* before I die, continue until maybe I can go like a whole day without sucking. #goals #terrans #metalistruth #thekidsarealright
Thank you @MetalSucks and @Matt Heafy for your awesome compliments at 2:59! :D I love @Trivium and am really honored that you enjoyed my cover. Thanks for all the great music, especially the latest album and the fun stuff you've been posting on your "Matthew kiichichaos Heafy" channel - keep it coming! I'd love to collaborate with you any time! PS. You got it right - Lyon - like the big yellow African cat... ;)
I was like "hell yeah" when I saw you on this, Been subscribed since 2013 and love your covers, especially when you prove to the haters that it's not lip sync ;)
...and to think this guy was considered "egotistical" and "hard to work with" in the early 00s. The genuine joy he shows from these tributes to their material is so wholesome. Good dude and a hard worker.
@@northlanedarko771 I can imagine what it's like getting the notoriety he did at such a young age. Didn't ember to inferno get released when he was like 17-18?
People forget that Matt started out in Trivium at 15-16 years old. Can you really hold character development against a child of 15-16 and watching him grow up before the eyes of our fan base into the married father of two that he is today? We legit saw Matt grow up from when he was a kid. We all were immature when we were young children. Matt was just in the spotlight of the meta community as he grew up. Again whether those statements were true or not years ago I don’t think it’s sensible to hold that against anyone.
Wow, THANK YOU to MetalSucks and Matt Heafy for the feature! Truly honored to be mentioned among these other talented musicians. The metal community has the best fans!
such an awesome humble guy! i remember watching him do a demo with john petrucci and he was just awestruck by john. lol it just goes to show theres really levels to this. its why i love guitar so much. it was very cool seeing john take him to school a little bit when i think that matt heafy would take me to school a lotta bit! lol great vid !
Matt said that Corey writes some weird stuff a couple of times now, so there must be some truth to it. I think he stated that he had to take a break during the recording of "Like Callisto to a Star in Heaven" because it was so fucking difficult for him to play what Corey wrote, iirc.
@@pascalschulz5894 I think it was because of the downpicking in the song. Matt got pretty tired and took a 5-minute break just to come back and see Corey recording the part Matt was to play.
I find so much joy and seeing the joy on Matt's face of these people paying homage and putting their own spices to his material. I'm sure they're all honored to have you even listen to it, let alone comment on it with face reactions live. Killer stuff Matt!
Matt you are awesome saw you live in Christchurch, New Zealand for my 16th birthday before we had the earthquakes . My older brother took me as my present it was the best metal concert I've ever been to . My brother also caught one of the two drumstick you guys threw out to the crowd and gave it to me , I'll never forget that night 10years or so ago now it's absolutely insane !
My first thoughts on David Lyon was that he reminded me on Hansi, and as soon as you said he that he reminds you of someone, all I could think was "he's not going to be hearing the same thing as me, no one ever thinks about blind guardian" and yeah, just a small thing that made my day
I like how he reacted to the Shattering cover by saying where is Noxy from. In an old video around the time the track was leaked all of Trivium reacted to it and posted on the tube!
Great covers; on another note I always find Ember to Inferno to be super underrated, yeah it was raw and they were super young, but the song structures, riffs and choruses are killer!
Как же классно наблюдать когда люди поют песни Trivium и у каждого свой стиль, как пения так и игры на разных инструментах. Для Мэтью это очень приятно, я уверен что мурашки побежали по телу!
I was never into metalcore but I have never ending respect for the Trivium guys as players and people. They, along with A7X were the guys who brought lead guitar back to the forefront of metal. After they blew up, all of a sudden, people who you never heard play a solo in their lives started incorporating them.
The man has one of the most iconic screams and brutal screams in metal today, and likes frozen 2 most opposite things that explains how versatile metalheads can be. The only thing we cant give a chance to is pop/fake music. We have people come from pop but we hate pop most of us do atleast.
I've loved all of Trivium's music, and according to spotify, on spotify I'm in the top .01% of most listens to a song by Trivium in 2019. I had no idea this guy was as cool as he is. Loved the vid
If you guys want to check our acoustic cover of Like light to the flies (2 guitars and a cajon) here the link : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a7jm_N4Oshc.html (hope you'll appreciate this one!..)
Matt you are truly a down to earth guy. Really cool. I can truly see you love your fans. If i ever decide to do reactions, I'm sure you would enjoy watching them. I love your music
You‘ve forgot to watch whitesocks watsons cover from What The Dead Men Say. An absolute beast of a drummer who learnee the song within two days after release.
