A document filmed this way is very much informative than the usual ones filmed from the top of the trolley poles, in my view (even if we benefit less from the scenery of the town and its surroundings).
Fascinating! Many thanks for showing us the technology. I've never seen a close up view of the overhead supply and switching for trolleybus systems. We only have trolley bus museums now in England, my town (Bournemouth on the south coast) scrapped their system many years ago.. I can see that the trolley poles are fibreglass...but are the trolley heads graphite blocks or wheels? However, what's the upwards pressure from the trolley poles to the conductor wire? The supply voltages on British systems ranged from around 400 to 750V d.c. mainly using glass bottle Mercury arc rectifiers. Finally, where was the video filmed please? Hallo Rob Mannion. On the end off fiberglass collector we have turning metal part with graphite inserts, like in elektric motors. We driving under 600 volts,that video was filmed after end off shift without passengers and stops as you can see in Usti nad Labem,Czech republic.
@expat60 Yes,we use four frequencies and to distinguish them by colors - red,yellow,white and blue ( same color for switch and button inside in the driver's cab .
