I caught a 13" hornpout on Waterbury Reservoir trolling a worm. They will come up and take trolled bait.

Nice! If you watch our Trolling for Walleye episode, the same thing happened to us with a similar rig...

Trolling at .5mph, 2oz rope weights are plenty to keep on the bottom... I make my own now... I should make a short video on how to do it and post it up!

Have you been out trolling for cats this fall yet? If so how has the fishing been? We are headed up this coming Monday to give it a try.

@@rodchase7 I have not yet... the water temps have been unusually high for this time of year --but they should be cooling down now with the switch in weather patterns this week. I'm hoping to get out soon!

@@VermontMasterAnglers just got back. We caught 8 and lost 3. It was a great day. Ive caught lot of channels before. But had never heard or trolling for them. Thanks for teaching me this new exciting way to catch them.

@@rodchase7 That's awesome! Though I can't take any credit! Ryan & Rob were the masterminds behind this awesome technique!

How fast are you going?

We were running about .5mph on this trip. In a charter down in TN It was suggested that you go .5 at 50 degree water, .4 at 40 and so on...

In the beginning, the data sheet lists "Southern Lake Champlain" as the location.... Check the 28 sec. mark. Cheers!
