Launched from catawba state park again and headed n.w. about 2 miles. The fish we had the previous day had moved and we found it to be a struggle just to get good numbers of marks in that area. We slid out about 1 mile and the marks were a little bit better but still we were struggling to catch fish. From there we decided to pack up and move out to a different location. We didn't really know which way to run, east up towards the slop chute or back west to gcan, I didn't no! After a coin toss, back to g-can we go!
Set down just on the west side of gcan about 1.5 miles, the water was looking way to clean for my liking but we did have a couple marks go through on the lowrance at about 14-16ft. Deployed the trolling motor, fired up the kicker and off we went pointing the bow of the boat straight towards gcan. Within 5 minutes we had our first fish in the boat then nothing for nearly 30 minutes or longer. Once we passed gcan heading in a southerly direction, the fish finder started to light up with multiple marks from 10-22ft down. ended up getting our limit in this area with two throwbacks.
It was a beautiful day out there and I happy to be there enjoying what mother nature had offered us for the day!
