@@josiahtron8673 It can surely be fun, but if you don't take it super serious and hang with the guys who sit around and do nothing for 12 hours straight, you'll end up in jail or kicked/banned a lot. They don't really like when people have fun in any meaningful way

They don't want to be realistic. These servers all have about 50 players that nolife the game, which entails them being bored standing around talking to each other all day having nothing to do because they dont even play they stand around, then one of the other 250 normal players trying to have fun walk within their general area and they start going ham on the person talking about stuff like you walked too close to my horse so i killed you 16 times. Id genuinely love to see the RP servers shut down just to ruin these peoples day the way they do everyone else's

And then these same people cry and moan when the player count dips and there's no new fresh faces despite people knowing not to join these servers because of these specific people hahahahahaha

Sounds like this fivem server I used to play. It was more pvp focused not rp but I swear half those kids had a thing for each other. I’ve witnessed groups of grown men argue over lag. People ddosing each other over rdm or a low level insult. Hour long expose video on the owners shady practices. He actually wiped a whole clan because of that one. The biggest supporters of the early days of the server that spent thousands as a group for clothing and car skins and money gone just like that. The chargeback was nothing though. Someone did some math on what he makes on monthly subscriptions and he gets over $50k. Over 1500 active subscriptions. He barely updates it. Just pops in every now and then and calls his players cancer because of a situation he caused most of the time. I don’t miss it but at the same time it was very entertaining to witness. Might go back eventually when I’m mentally prepared for the torture. Only fun part was messing with this streamer Aladdin potter that took being a cop way too seriously. He would sit in the pd and yell for 30 minutes at the other cops. The content you could get from that server is insane.

I was on a red dead server once and this guy was the governor of the Valentine area or something, he was very popular on the server and was married in real life. He ended up cheating on his real life wife with a woman in-game (he didn't know her personally) who was roleplaying as a prostitute. Serious RP servers in any game are legitimately just a social strainer for losers and freaks

I found it funny tbh. I used to take RP super seriously like 9-10 years ago on Arma 3 when I was a kid and now looking back at people who are like 30+ years old take rp so seriously cracks me tf up.

I'll be honest most rps are pretty bad but there is some that are genuinely good have actual action not just standing around and the people can take jokes I haven't done an RP in a while but I've had somewhat overall positive experiences tho I play on PlayStation
