If the camera doesn’t switch to horizontal, check to see if the ‘screen orientation’ lock is on. If so, unlock it so the screen can rotate to horizontal.

I'm glad you mentioned this. Yes, many people don't know that their screen orientation may be locked. All phones are different, but on my Android you just swipe down from the top and there's an icon of two rounded arrows with a diagonal phone inside. It must be selected/highlighted for one's screen to turn automatically when the phone is physically turned. I know this video is a few weeks old but I'll try to add this comment to future videos.

I have to be honest DR.Lori, I was very nervous watching this online appraisal! The guest need to have all thier information ready, and do a practice run with a friend or family member before hand! Like, how are you supposed appraise the image if you can't see the item's detail's, MY GOD!!! lol

Hello love your personality and all your knowledge you share for free! I have been a lover of antiques since I was a child I am now 41 my grandmother has taught me a lot but you are teaching me even more because glass and antiques in general are not going for the prices they were 20 years ago I remember my grandmother paying $80-$200 for a piece of glass and I’m seeing the same pieces for five dollars on eBay so any knowledge about why peoples inheritance of antiques are being re-sold for such a cheap price is beyond me it’s almost ruined the antique business

I LOVE art ! A number of years ago I started buying small items that I could afford, with a focus on pottery because it's beautiful and utilitarian, plus I my maternal grandmothers maiden name was Seagrove. In the past few years I've started acquiring prints, watercolors and most recently a small bronze piece of a lady on a swing. It was nice to hear you say "Art art art! Buy art!" Dr. Lori, what does it mean when a painting has a stamp or seal in front left corner instead of artist signature? Does that mean that its just a print or lithograph. Example: TP symbol on painting of ships gathered near harbor?

Hi Dr Lori yeah they use markers like that because people have been caught taking the stickers off other items that are lower and placing them on those items so they can get them cheaper let you know it's not good thing so now it's forced the people to use magic markers or permanent markers which is not a good thing for people even me I'm not a seller but I like to collect certain things and I don't want that stuff on there and you know other people sometimes they just don't know how to say please and thank you and excuse me if more people in this world would do it then our world would be so much better thank you and I love your show I hope you never stop

Dr. Lori, I was hoping to clarify something. If we send a photo in through your website you will give us basic info. If it's not valuable, you will tell us. If the item has value, you will encourage us to do the paid evaluation. Did I get that correct?Thanks for clarifying!

Currently when using my online appraisal service where I prepare written reports, if you make a submission and after my initial review I feel the item is not worth the appraisal fee, I tell you at no charge. If it is more than the appraisal fee, I provide a link for payment. Once I receive payment, I start preparing your online written appraisal report. Does that help?
